Music...

I was a huge enjoyer of Everquest 2. I was in the beta and took two weeks off from work at launch... (which puts you at risk at my old job, my new job you can take an entire month and it is ok). When I went to blackburrow for the first few times... I was legit scared. it was freaky and foreign.

It was in a very large part based upon the aggressive, anxiety invoking music you were faced with when entering the zone.

I want to feel scared and unsettled. I hope Bear Mc. Whatever is up to the task.

    Bear McCreary. :)

Bear is an awesome composer - I have absolutely no doubt that he will deliver something absolutely amazing! You can always check him out on Spotify if you're in doubt!

He did such an amazing job on Percy Jackson. I worked on the social campaigns for Paws of Fury with Paramount a few years back. I loved using his score for spots :relaxed:

Below music from Percy Jackson has this tone that it could be the opening music as you are walking out of the gates into Verra and seeing the landscape and beauty of this unknown world and place for the very first time.

I'm really hoping for majority of the music direction to be leaning more towards adventure and exploring vs battle and action

Agreed! He had some really good tracks in the alternative Witcher series (I do not recall the name right now) - and his God of War tracks has become a favorite at my DnD table... c:

    I want just that.
Ambiance in tavern means a lot, and I'd like to dive in once in a while, when I step in : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s5xRwpKEfU
For context, I "MIGHT BE" an af 39 yo autistic drunk (which I am 100%), the vid got shot right past covid. Still, keep a look at the violin. Best part ever. I think we need both cool music like that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyg5jJrZ42s
And some crazy Violin, it's an absolute delight, especially in a fantasy setting (no shit?? ).
I think town ambiance is everithing, violin brings it togher; living scenery.
You need and want people stop and stare at whatever happeneing around taverns; the main attration around.

I mean, I'm obviously making a fixation on tavern, considering my past posts. But whoever working on sound design &BFM know they need to design these pleces as perfect as can be!

...Taverns are no joke! We feast and join for future battles here!
The tune must be on point!

That, and up-high castles linked on te ground by heavy chains. But that's a topic for later I guess :p

Don't ask for scary music too much. There will be someone out there who has a phobia about it.
The girl watched the last of the creatures die and murmured a soft 'Thank you' to her rescuer.

The stranger's eyes lifted to the blood red cloud on the horizon.

'We have to move. It's not safe here.'

    That I can understand :)
Which is ok! It's all about the right pace at the right time!
Not every tavern of every node should go with pouncing beats everytime!

But, sometimes, just sometimes, we need some :D
How do we keep being reasonable is another question :#

I enjoy this type of music, sounds like when you enter a town or tavern

I don't know about scary but one of my all time favorite soundtracks in a game was and always will be

    Skyrim's Soundtrack is dope ... ...

Baldurs Gate Three's Soundtrack is dope ... ...

I won't hold it against Intrepid if they don't hire someone like Hans Zimmer or so : but damn so many, amazing Artists/Composers out there ... ...

Elder Scrolls music in general is awesome. There's just a lot of baggage around it at the moment...

I love Skyrim opening from all my heart. It has not been beat so far.
Diablo 2 ambiance OST are the absolute best. You want to roam in a phantasy world with crippling dark threats? This is it.

We are past the tavern songs. It is to my liking.
Skyrim and Diablo, we clearly in the realm of the dark fantasy.
I'd like your opinion on this one, guys....
Isn't this song, the most Apocalyptic Dark-fantasy moment of all? Guts would joyfuly swing to that.
It fades down past 2:00. Still, stil standing. It's Elden Ring.

Intrepid. Please, Introduce such moment in Ashes of Creation.
For me, this song feels like "yes, you might try (and will fail & be crushed to oblivion, put at your place)".

Like a few animes point to, we don't NEED to triumph, we need to experience.
Don't give "enough" reward, give us bits. We cannot beat these allmighty beings. They "barely" suffer us.
    Which is more than enought.
    "We know so little".

To me, this song is the only best Dark-fantasy song. The dark-secret hidden-ultimate-boss.

You realize your actions. Tears pourring down. But whatever, you won't just say "sorry".
You go in with all you got. And hope you stand up, maybe, in the end.

    We are facing GODZ.
    Not mere tricksters.

Allright, two best songs. I gladly remember DS3 intro :D
Should I enjoy in this most glorious moment, I cannot applaud yet,
The song feels like silk on a breastplate,
Long forgotten. Trace of a finger in the wade.

It fades, whatever rememberance to ashes,
Godly trace in your face, sweep your tears, sweep your dreams,
Sweep your reality, sweep your fears.
You will accept what's to come with bliss.

    (Do I dark-poet good enough?)

And I'll thank you for it, with wet soul :D
(whatever I say here is free-for-use. Best nobody-wish is to be quoted indeed :o ).

If the Soundtrack of " Helldivers 2 " wouldn't be so much away from a Magic-and-Fantasy Universe like Ashes of Creation and the World of Verra,

DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN i would suggest that epic Soundtrack. 🤣👍
