Commissions board in taverns

I think commission boards should be placed in the taverns of a node.

Pros:
-Perfect place to wait for other people to group up, as you have secondary activities to engage in
-Good turnover of people that come in and out, thus it could become an actual social hub that is frequented
-Taverns currently dont attract anyone else other than tavern game players, i think its unrealistic to think they will be used like a tavern.

Bulletin boards would synergise with that.
    I like it

I honestly forgot this wasn't already the stated design.

I'm still maintaining the suggestion of having different boards for different tiers (maybe even types) of Commission, unless they're going all the way to 'tailoring the specifics of the request a particular player sees, to their level of access in the Node'.

(Intrepid, after multiple years of thinking about this and how it works in Elite, my opinion is that you shouldn't actually do it that way. Make multiple boards. There are some noticeable flaws and exploits in the outcomes you get from 'Top rankers automatically getting harder versions of the same mission')

Although the genre is 90% trash, most of the creative stuff around mmos nowadays comes from isekai.
I like the trope of the adventures guild, which are basically local institutions build hosting adventures in some sort of tavern and giving out quests.
There is something inbetween the disdainfull glares for newbies, the comradery and social feeling and the tiered quest systems that say "proof yourself", that sells the adventure aspect to me really well.
I hope some of that can be captured in aoc as well.

I also wrote once about changing the board to an NPC and putting it in a tavern. The board just looks too technical. But for a change, you can put a board and an NPC.

Good idea. If they don't put practical things in taverns it'll turn into an RP only zone.

I prefer a list of tasks to look like a board, rather than having one NPC listing a bunch of otherwise non-related tasks.
And I think the Commissions Boards in Taverns are supposed to be player-generated - while the ones outside of the Taverns are supposed to be Node/Mayor-generated.

Agreed. Just makes a lot of sense to have quest hub objects like commission boards be optional placeables on Freeholds (including taverns).
