Preliminary Alpha 2 Ranger Feedback

I know that Alpha 2 hasn't even begun yet, but after looking at the abilities of the Ranger, I have some initial feedback I'd like to provide and get opinions on, this will be general feedback on the Ranger archetype.

Entirely too many buffs/debuffs as it currently stands, and not enough active abilities. In terms of true, single target attacks, the Ranger only has 3. It somewhat makes up for that by having 7 abilities that are AoE focused.

Camo is going to be something that will need extensive testing/tweaking, as it could be a game-breaking ability if not properly balanced.

    Fighter has the same problem. Lot's of movement and utility, but not many direct damage abilities.

    I have a post ready to make about the Fighter as well, and I can see your point with this. It feels like a lot of excessive flair, and in need of more actual abilities.

    As it currently stands, you would just weave your auto attacks in between your skills. Throw in a few augment, religion, and other abilities and it'll very quickly get to become a 10+ active button rotation.

    I like all the buffs/debuffs. I wouldn't expect to use more than one or two of the hunts/marks based on character build. Optimal play will obviously use all of them, but viable will be a much different story.

    Camo is pretty meh overall. Seen it in other games, its never been as strong as these forums seem to think.

    Nice points, however the marks/ hunts are a really cool aspect and I disagree there are to many, I'd like to see more, don't forget we don't need to take every skill listed, also this is only up to level 15-25 so there are alot of abilities we have not seen,

    Furthermore there are quite a few direct single target abilities, snipe, headshot, barrage, are just 3 and all seem super fun to play with

    Rangers, to me who comes from a TTRPG background, should have a lot of utility. The way AoC has designed them *makes sense* and the direction they are headed is perfect, in my opinion. There are some technical things that I am curious about (especially when it comes to class identity colors), but I'll be able to better comment on that in A2. :)

    All in all, as a forever ranger (since 10 years back) - I love the AoC ranger.

    I absolutely do not want anything near the standard 30+ damage buttons doing the same thing with different CDs and colors. Imo, the things that we have seen in the ranger showcase looks amazing, and I am beyond thrilled to try them in A2.
