Citadel of the Steelbloom

Hey folks!

Steven Sharif’s tweet (https://x.com/StevenJSharif/status/1814010700026843196) has got me thinking. Do you think the "Citadel of the Steelbloom" could be a new raid? Or what else could it mean for the game?

Also, wouldn’t it make sense to present the Bard class in a raid setting like this? What are your thoughts on showcasing the Bard in such an environment? Or maybe Steven is just fooling us, and it doesn't mean anything?

I couldn’t find any specific information about the Citadel. Maybe someone knows more about this topic?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and speculations. Let’s discuss!

A dungeon or a raid seems almost certain. Sounds like the Steelbloom were left behind when the races fled Verra, left to fend for themselves against a threat known to corrupt the minds of men...
  • love this name Citadel of the Steelborn, sounds good
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.

Thanks for the link, so a POI could be anything then.

Maybe they were corrupted themselves and we have to cleanse them?

After the latest livestream, I’m interested in your thoughts on the Citadel of the Steelbloom mechanics—mob pulling, group play, and the ritual summoning stood out. What do you think about protecting the NPC during the summoning? Does it add value, or is it an overused mechanic from other games? Also, how do you feel the dungeon might continue? Do you expect more of these escort-style mechanics, or are you hoping for something different? And how does the lore fit into your expectations? Keen to hear your insights!

I had a thought about the NPC during the summoning ritual—what if after the ritual, the NPC leveled up and continued to follow the group throughout the dungeon? After a few encounters, she could gain new abilities and eventually help defend against PvP groups in the open world. This could add a unique twist and more strategic depth to group play. Would this be something you’d find engaging, or do you think it would complicate the mechanics too much?
