Hello everyone,
Last weekend, I had a discussion with some people on a private Discord server about Ashes.
Eventually, we started talking about in-game cosmetics. I mentioned that I hadn't bought any cosmetics because I remembered the developers saying that Kickstarter backers would have a separate shop after the game's release, where we could buy cosmetics individually.
However, it seems I misunderstood.
My friends said that the developers actually said that Kickstarter backers could buy the cosmetics separately in the pre-order packs that occurred from Dec. 2017 - Jan- 2024.
I'm not a completionist, but seeing all those pets, costumes, and mounts that I wanted but didn't buy at the time due to my misunderstanding makes me a bit sad, especially since I know I'll be playing this game with my friends for a long time.
After reading more about this on the wiki and the forum, I now understand that those cosmetics won't be coming back.
Is that set in stone, or is there any chance those cosmetics might return to the shop in some form before the game officially launches?
We haven't received any updates on the shop since January 2024.
Thanks for listening, and for those who have access to Alpha 2, have fun!
P.S.: I'm sadge that I won't have a Rootling or a Troll of Joyous.

So I'm sorry to say, yes, you missed out, and it's very unlikely you'll get a chance to get them again. You may be able to get replacements for them ingame, or find cosmetics that have similar aspects to them, but I'm afraid you're out of luck for the actual cosmetics.
First, the cosmetic come back up for sale, and Intrepid loses any faith players may have had in them.
Second, the cosmetics do not come back up, and players maintain their faith that Intrepid will stick to what they have said, as best they can.
Because that is what you are asking if Intrepid will do - go back on what they specifically said.
Anyways, yeah, if you want mounts and pets you didn't get access to, it's probably best to pick up Animal Husbandry to work out the genetics and traits you need to match the cosmetic demands you're looking for.
