If you saw the post here or another forum it was likely posted by someone outside Intrepid who would only be speculating.

Given the different timezones/users involved in testing a time window wouldn't work and they would know the backlash to expect. But they never stated outright it would be 24 hours only that it would run Friday-Sunday so I can't given you a gaurantee either.

Based on what was shared during the livestream, tests during A2 Phase 1 will be held from Friday throughout Sunday. Neither Steven nor Margareth have said that they will only last for 8 hours each day :)

That they never said only 8 hours a day aside, testing only 8 hours a day would just be a bad idea.

If the purpose of the test is to test server load and how the realm grids, then they'd want to test it with the natural population ups and downs over the course of the whole weekend.

Think they would want to optimize time in test, so 12 AM Pacific time on Friday to 12 AM Pacific time on Monday should be continuous. Early on I do expect may server resets, and those may be on an individual basis. Plus they are attempting to test the performance when one server goes down and others pick up the work to deliver hopefully a seamless experience. I can even see them “breaking” an individual server to simulate it, although there may be enough bugs early on to trigger failure anyway. Also why more testers are needed to help trigger those events.
