Opinion- They do not "Need" more testers. You asked for it.

For months now people have been begging for more keys to alpha and you got them. They are not free, they are less of a buy in price than the supporter packs, and no, they do not actually need you.

The price on these is a multi faceted filter. They do not want too many people joining, but if they do have people join they want the likelihood of said people being genuine testers for the game to be higher. This is the exact same philosophy as the supporter packs. They do not want everyone, they want people who are willing to invest in the game and help improve it by testing and providing more direct feedback.

This alpha access feels like an immigration application.
They all want to come through the gates into Verra, in waves, some with nice caravans and outfits like nobles, others like refugees.

it's supply and demand, people are demanding something that there is no supply for. they don't need any more testers so you get what you got. people spend **** amounts of money of crappy mobile games so who really cares what kind of price tag they put on alpha access at this point.

negative ignorant feedback but sure. You can have your win. doesnt matter to me either way. was not going to purchase this in the first place. They are the ones thinking they are paying money for early access to a game instead of testing it.
