Are we really charging people to test your game for you? I think I am going to come down to the office and get an interview of why this is.

But, games I really am invested in over the years. Being able to buy into them. Has let me give feed back and really test, report and help fix games I have really cared about. The testing environment was filled with people that actually cared about the game. They had bought into the testing phase because they really wanted to help make the game a better game. IMO it's just a better way.

While I am sure you meant it as a joke, or some tongue in cheek reference that got missed. Me, I would take it as a threat, and internet anonymity can be pierced. Think about that over the weekend.
It is more like borrowing money than it is charging for testing part of the interest on our investment is we get to participate.
Well, they do because they can
Any other open development mmo does the same also.
Yes, yes they are. They're searching for people that want to actively support development and test game systems and loops for a long period of time VS people that just want to troll and teabag for a few days. Which if you've paid to test, you are "more likely" to help test and "less likely" to be a douche. Not 100% certainty of course.
