Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

You can download the game launcher here and we encourage you to join us on our for the most up to date testing news.

Max level

Does anyone know if Ashes is going to stick with the max level…I think it’s 50….or will they add extra levels after a while?

I hope not, because to me that means people will have to keep farming for gear and such instead of enjoying the end game.
It would be more fun if the go width instead of higher…like old DaoC did with master and champion levels and such.

Max Level for which progression path?
    Ashes has several progression paths.

    Ashes doesn't have an Endgame.

Max level is 50, and will remain that way for a while. Seeing as the Alpha still has not been released, and beta/release are 2yrs+ away, I don't think this is something remotely concerning

it all depends on how they plan to implement new content after release, everything we get at release is essentially the same as vanilla wow was, max level with endish game content till a big update came, once IS goes to throw out a dlc / expansion update then we will see how it works, they could raise the lvl cap while also raising node limits to incorporate higher levels monsters

level wise will be 50, but start alpha 2 i think they said max level is 25 intially (could of been 20 i forget)

but progression like mention above there many types
standard gear progression/crafting progression and so on however you also have node progression too and bunch more

Intrepid plans on increasing the level cap with major DLC expansions, Roanator.

So, as long as the devs hold to form, you will see a level cap increase at a minimum every six (6) months.

Of course, there's no mention of how many levels each DLC expansion would be ... I'm sure we'll get a better idea after the game launches (game release is still a few years out).

I think there needs to be a combat level plateau and that plateau can forever be built off of. Increasing the level cap makes past content/accomplishments a bit obsolete by diminishing the fact it’s being done at the max level. I agree that increases should be made over time but only within the artisan system to improve the gear being created; and also newer content and lands with higher levels of difficulty.

Until big update is fairly archaic. Modern games are doing Seasonal updates that drop several times per year with lesser amount of new content than in an Expansion.
Level cap doesn't need to be raised during the Seasonal updates.
