Are LIMITS placed on Dungeons or other things?

GrulshGrulsh Member, Alpha Two
I am currently playing another MMO that recently released. I plan on playing AoC and have been forever.

I want to know if AoC will limit dungeons to a certain number of entries. Also, are there limits to doing other things besides dungeons?

I DO NOT like limits on dungeons! If I work a lot and have a week with bunch of time, I want to enter as much as I am able to; Either to play catch-up or to get ahead. Currently in some MMOs, you have a limit of a point CAP that accumulates and once maxed out and I'm working a hard few weeks, I lose all that time while I'm capped. I want to play whenever I want and how I want anytime I want.

Please let me know! Thank you!!!

This is how to tell us all that your playing Throne and Liberty without saying the words Throne or Liberty.

As for Ashes their is no such system and their never would be given everything we have heard from Stevens game philosophy. But I suspect that various costs like gear/consumables and travel times, no automatic group finders etc are going to limit how much dungeon running you can do before switching to other activities.

I love that! I hope you are correct! I look forward to a true MMO that allows me to choose what I prefer to do or be! TY again!

i see where you are coming from, the limits on a dungeon / gathering etc should just be limited by mechanics of respawns and other systems instead of just a hard limit on the amount of times you can do it , players taking your tags of bosses etc.

if you need to limit something do it via respawns / gathering node respawns and other mechanics instead of just a simple you get 5 dungeons a day, as this way people will fight over the area / dungeon while waiting for the spawn creating more pvp content.
  • Well You will get limits for sure. Since almost all content will be open world, and not instanced.
This means that you may get destroyed by another group in pvp combat, and you may not even get the change to kill some boss at all. Also i doubt the respawn timers will be short. Probably smth like 24 hours. So dont expect to be farming dungeons.

BUT the thing that you may like is that - Hopefully there will be a lot of content out there to do. So even if some other group occupies some zone, You should have enough opportunities to farm other bosses.

    I 100% agree!

just so we all understand, the Alpha 2 is an unfinished work-in-progress so that what ever you test has a great chance of being adjusted anytime in the next year or so

After playing UO and EQ and everything since then, I do understand that. =)

Throne and liberty basicly time gated all gear gain either behind crazy low drop rate for the worst purple gear and then the better stuff is all restricted behind time gates (that only 1 hour of content a day before it all done)
The reason they did this was basicly it forces players to use the Auction house to gear up which is real money based and the only things that can be sold on the AH are basicly the gear/food (which was gated behind low great success rating) which time gated so you could only gain limited funds per day from selling on the AH so there for you incentivised to give them money for lucent to be able to acquire gear.

basicly they did everything to make the game super pay to win and tried to deceive how pay to win the game actually is from people. They just want to manipulate people to fork up the cash :p

So i doubt we will see thing as bad as TOL due to steven doesnt want a pay to win game atleast from what he said so far :P

Yep... I assume this will not have any PTW features. I just was wondering if they had any plans to locking dungeons or others things after so many entries. Even WOW did things like that.

Most of the dungeons will be in the open world so it would be rather difficult to lock people out if they did since their not instanced based like WoW i would think it function much more like Everquest did with its dungeons over what most people are use too with instances.
