New player experience

Hey guys,
hope I won't get bashed for not checking all the forums etc. (just found out about this game today), but how would a player who just joined the game 3 months after the release of the game (example), experience the "creation" of the world in that node? What I'm trying to say is, from what I understand, when the game will start, players will begin exploring and doing whatever in a certain node and a city will spawn in a certain location, wouldn't that be "unfair" to the players that join later after release, since they wouldn't really have that experience of creating the world around them (village becoming a city). I appologize for being super confusing, I hope anyone here is patient enough to deal with this bs. I love the whole idea behind the game, but I think it would be cool if every player (no matter when he starts playing the game), would have the opportunity to have that experience of seeing a start of a civilization etc.

Sorry again

• Welcome mate! from how i understand it nodes take a while to quite a while to build up, and they can get destroyed by players sieging them so there will always be opportunity for new players to help shape the world :)
• I'm not aware of them making any official announcements for how the "noob experience" will be. If anyone knows of dev comments feel free to chime in.

I can say what I hope will happen. The game is apparently PvP focused with an open world. With that being said, it would be nice to have a starting area/island or something that is a PvP free zone for brand new players/new alts to get their first few levels and some basic gear. I think systems like that make the new player/new alt toon experience a little easier before jumping into the big bad world.
• they did release a video regarding nodes you should check it out on the official ashes of creation youtube channel.

What i can tell you so far is that almost every action in the environment regarding the node will give the node exp in some kind of way. For example if you farm Monsters in this area the node wil get a % of the exp you earned. You can mine/craft in the area to to get the goods for the next evolution

Example from my site (not officially approved)

Node lvl 1 --> Node lvl 2

0 / 37.000 Exp earned by Players
0 / 300 Herbs gathered
0 / 300 Ores mined
0/ 300 Craftings of any Type done to NPC ( Hager)
• From the looks of it the world will be constantly evolving. Nodes will continue to grow and die. While someone coming into the game say, 6 months to a year after release might not see the completely barebones world built from scratch, it seems like they will get to watch a town that was there when they first started, burn to the ground, and a previously uninhabited node begin to grow.

And the best part of this so far seems to be that it won't just be based on player interaction. Maybe a guild forms an alliance and a node thrives for a very long time, but then nature itself puts a stop to that. This game looks like it has the potential to truly create a living breathing world for us to explore, that every player will effect.

I would not state that. The game will have a lot of PVP elements for sure, a lot of mixed elements (PVP/PVE, like caravan system), and a huge pile of PVE elements, like all the professions, open world bosses, forming environment (okay, this is a PVP / PVE combo as well), city-building, etc.

This is the way I am understanding it at the moment as well. While the first of us into the game will be treated to a completely barren (city-wise) nature-scape, the people who come in later could have an even bigger effect on the game by simply banding together and tearing down the cities that we create and building up their own nodes. If anyone has ever played Eve: Online and lived in null-sec, that is kind of what I imagine will happen here. Alliances made and broken, spies and tearing down and establishing massive empires. Im psyched.
• I plan on buying into the alpha and betas (I don't trust my luck to the lottery) and the new player experience is something I will for sure focus on and provide feedback on. I'll be rolling a new alt a few days before the end of the test to see how friendly the game is to a new toon. One of my biggest concerns is if the world levels up will my new toon be able to find activities around the starting area that fit my toons level. I plan on playing from day one so the new player experience won't effect me personally but for the long term health of the game it's something that I will absolutely focus on during the testing
