Love the Nikua race concept and art. Anyone know if Nikua will get racial bonuses in sailing and swimming. As someone who enjoys the naval exploration and combat in games such as Atlas and Sea of Theives, I am looking forward to the sea content as a Nikua priest!

I don't think this has been specifically answered yet, but I agree the ocean is Nikua realm and it would be nice to see that connection (gills?).
Personally I'd love to see their architecture expand further with more color and Marae-like decor and a little less 'fred flintsone'
Cheers!

They removed racial characteristics. They have been replaced with Backgrounds. Look it on the wiki. Race choice thankfully is a cosmetic and RP option only.

Ashes still has Racial progression and Racial Augments - it's not just cosmetic and RP options.
But, it's true that Sailing and Swimming bonuses will most likely be under Backgrounds rather than under Racial Progression.
As Dygz mentioned, it was revealed in a recent interview with Steven that racial augments still exist, in parallel to the backgrounds.
