Question regarding EAC and the installer

I can see from the installer that EAC is required for playing AOC?
I really am not happy about giving that level of access to my PC. Is this the end of the line with myself and AOC?

    You've been around since Kickstarter. They have been very open in their plans for anti-cheat and EAC was always on the table in addition to other measures. Just consider Steven your silicon proctologist and bend over and grab your ankles. You want to play, they going for the deep, deep data. Digging out all the kernels.

    I have no doubt they have. I just haven't lived my life around the news that AOC has produced over the last 7 years. If I make a dedicated PC then I will install the game until then BB to what I paid already.

    And before this gives people the wrong impression, I am very much against sad people who take to cheating online. It ruins games. Thank you for the response though.
