Node taxes on purchases

I saw a video that displayed the Mayors ability to increase and decrease taxes by percentages for Node purchased items.
I saw the player then purchase an item.
There was no distinguishing between the actual cost of the item and the taxes.
If one of the thoughts on the game is that players can move to another Node if their current Node is overly burdensome, displaying the taxes on an item in the purchasing process, or the current Node tax rate, would have a huge impact on the player as to weather or not the Node is functioning well.
As a side item, if possible, the Mayor could publish posters (or some such) informing the players why the tax rate is what it is (the taxes are being collected to fund a new Church/Bank/Armory...).

I am not disabled, just hurt real bad for a long amount of time.
At least I got out of my gilded cage (rehab facility).
