Updating the BIOS did not fix the issue for me. Seemed slightly better on the performance side. But still crashed after a few minutes of gameplay.

I turned off my second monitor and disabled any CPU overclock curve. Have been able to play 15 minutes without crashes now

How long were you online? -> it crashes like every "couple" min, depends, sometimes more, sometimes less
Where in the game were you at when this happened? -> the more players i can see, the more often it crashes
Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently? -> just face more players lol

I'm okay with two monitors and ultra settings now. For most people with powerful CPU the treatment is to disable any CPU accelerations, boosts, etc in BIOS. This is the issue with UE5. After doing that didn't face this issue again

    Specs
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6
    16 GB RAM
First: RX 5700 XT (8 GB)
Changed to: RX 7800 XT (16 GB)
    Windows 11
Different resolution from 2560x1440 till 1024x768 and graphics low till high
    BIOS and graphic driver updated

Where in the game were you at when this happened?

Between the first quest sending you to lionhold and arriving in lionhold (bewtween 30 sec in game and 3 minutes)
Sometimes with an error message "...video memory trying to allocate a rendering ressource...." followed by a black screen or sometimes directly to the black screen

Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently?
Yes i tried it now 12-15 times over the last 3 days changing the resolution, the graphics quality or even the card to higher memory version. The system crashes latest after a couple of minutes. It never crashed in the character creator even being in there for 30 minutes.
    Edit

Switching to performance mode in BIOS ("Asus optimal") made the difference for me.
I was able to play for more than 30 minutes without crashing

    Edit
Crashing again after a couple of minutes seems the reason is somewhere else.....

When I try to log in, I get a message that I need an additional 56,970 M of free memory, I have almost 50G free memory on my hard drive. I have cleared my computer cache, when I try to use the login screen 'clear cache' button, it says I cannot while downloading, which I am not doing. Thanks!

If I had a GPU crash (black screen, had to restart PC) but couldn't use crash reporter, how can I upload the logs/dump files directly?

I fixed the VRAM and crashing issues by updating my BIOS—the one component I hadn’t updated yet, since it requires a manual update process. I played for a few hours at max settings and no crashes so far.

Here’s a quick guide to the steps I followed:

    1. **Download the BIOS Update**
Go to your motherboard manufacturer’s website (MSI in my case) and download the latest BIOS update specific to your motherboard model.

    2. **Prepare the Update File**
Unzip the downloaded files, then copy them to a USB flash drive. Ensure the drive is formatted correctly and only contains the update files for a smooth update process.

    3. **Update Your BIOS**
Restart your computer and enter the BIOS menu. Update your BIOS with the USB flash drive.

For more detailed instructions on accessing the BIOS and updating it, here are two useful videos:

For those of us who've also updated BIOS and aren't fixing this, any other suggestions? This VRAM error is also affecting Ark Ascended for me, another UE5 game. Everything was fine before the 22nd.

Where in the game were you at when this happened? - various places in Lionhold
Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently? - doesn't seem to be any particular action that causes the crash.

I do run dual monitors, saw another comment about someone turning off their second monitor and the game not crashing, will give that a try.

Error message that I get is out of GPU Memory, but I've played with my GPU monitoring software on the second screen and the GPU memory does not ever get close to maxing out, so I'm not really sure the game is identifying the cause of the crash correctly.

Do we need to enable the GPU crash logging in the launcher AND also manually send in logs? Happy to do so, but don't want to cause multiple reports for each individual crash.

You have a 14900k, don't you... Get your bios updated and flash the bios. It'll fix the issues.

Updated your Intel chipset driver? If you have Intel that is.This fixed a lot of UE5 issues for me since I have a 13th gen Intel CPU.

Intel Chipset Driver version 10.1.19627.8423 is what I downloaded. For some reason the Windows automatic update doesn't update things like this.

Get the occasional GPU crash (sudden black screens, no inputs work) I can't recover from without restarting PC, should I upload any particular logs here or elsewhere?

    Also are there any workarounds?

    Total about 4 hours 02.11.2024
It was 2 big crits. First at river in Lionhold. (autocrash was sent)
Second the last one: Wile i was killing the buged wolf in close range I died and choose not' [home] but just Lionhold return. And after that I had non stop 100% cicled boot looped processing. I' ve tried to kill process repair client but nothing helps it. Still can't authorize through launcher.

    1080Ti x2
    Intel 7700K
    32GB
    Quality in game HIGH

When unstuck was used. Character buged in texture at LionHold stone and cant relogin at 75% of load. Just close the game without critical bug report.

I'm getting sick of it tbh this is not playable for me :'(
I surrender and will wait for a patch

    How long were you online?
    From 2 seconds to 2 hours+

Where in the game were you at when it happened?
Pretty much anywhere but mostly around high trafic zones and times.
For instance, north of winstead in afternoon -> no problems
In Lionhold during evening -> 3 crashes to go from a side of the city to the other

Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently?
Connect and play. During high trafic moments there is not even a chance of not crashing.

Error message shows as: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000000

    My config
I'm pretty much the only one of my guild having so much of them, but we are many players.
I usually don't even wonder if my computer can run a game. Never have any problems.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER. Pilot version : 566.03
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz
    RAM: 31.94GB
2 screens both 1920x1080, one 165Hz which i play on, one 144Hz, mostly with discord.

I closed all other apps aside discord.

    My troubleshoots
    I did this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsoMl-e2-Tg
    That https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VwaWNRFXKU
I updated all my drivers including BIOS driver.
I disabled CPU BOOST in BIOS.
For the game quality I tried pretty much all possible configurations from low till high. I've set the screen resolution to lower. I've tried to limit my fps rate (which by the way deosn't apply. With SHIFT + ALT + F i can see my fps don't care about that setting).
Full screen or borderless windowed don't work either.
    I tried repairing game files.

    Additional information
It appears that the bug substantially occurs more while a lot of players are around. Although it still happens when no one's around. Yesterday, I managed to play a whole afternoon in north and around winstead with a 7 player group, with other groups farming around but when the evening (IRL) came, literally impossible to play.
I would be suspecting some kind of memory leaks or something that has some kind of "snowball effet" because once it happens and i relog, it happens again and again way faster. Although Rebooting don't really help at this point.

    Crash Logs
I attached here some crash logs without the full dump enabled. I do have some full dump one BUT the file's too big to be uploaded here. Where can i send it ?
Edit : I had a ticket on this problem, I tried to send the GPU logs there but it says " The upload took too long, connection was lost."

Also if anyone from intrepid studio actually read this. I'm fine with being contacted and help troubleshooting this in any way I can.

I understand your frustrations dude, i had mega troubles for like 2 weeks straight.

Go into your paging file and increase the virtual memory, i bumped mine up to 16GB and have been running fairly decently in the PTR. For some reason the game is making my RAM go haywire and it's overcomitting. I hope this helps, as there's been nothing else that seems to work for a lot of people.

what does the GPU crashes look like? I've had a few crashes but not sure if it was due to the GPU or not. and is everyone getting the same crash characteristics ? just black screens ?

I have been using a 7500f cpu and RX6800 gpu with 32gb of ram . Asrock B650M riptide motherboard. 2TB game dedicated Gen4 NVME SSD.
the CPU is PBO +200mhz clocked and the RX6800 is undervolted but with +10% power threshold. So 5.25ghz and 2300mhz respectfully.

Average gpu (98% utilized at 4k high settings 50-65fps) CPU %50

RAM use hits about 20gb +/-
    Vram 12gb +

Improvement over last week Alpha 2

I have not experienced any crashes/blackscreens/BSODs or such personally that could be explained other than server stability

I do however have my frame rate capped at 122hz to match my LGC3 Oled tv/display max output. I am doing this using AMD Adrenalin software, But I am also using MSI afterburner overlay with Rivatuner which can also cap framerate.

Perhaps the frame rate during loading/login screens is over driving...Just a thought.

This describes the exact problem I'm experiencing. Someone told me all I have to do is delete a folder but I have no clue the filepath or file that I should be deleting. I usually can be in game for about 30min - 1hr and sure enough I receive the exact same issue where all monitors go completely black no matter if I unplug and plug back in HDMI/Display Ports from the back of the GPU or the Monitors. Only way to get back up and running is by hard rebooting my machine.

    Computer Specs:
    MB: ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E
    Storage: 980 PRO PCIe® 4.0 NVMe® SSD 2TB
    RAM: DDR5 128GB Speed: 4000 MHz
    CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900KS 3.4 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Memory Size: 12 GB | Driver Version: 566.03
Primary Monitor(where the game is displaying): ASUS ROG Swift 27”1440P OLED (2560x1440), 240Hz, 0.03ms, G-SYNC
    2nd,3rd, & 4th Monitors: ASUS VS248H-P 24" Full HD 1920x1080

I can provide logs as well if needed but if there is a known resolve to this please let me know! I haven't had a chance to play as much as I'd like due to this issue. Not really into rebooting my machine every hour.

    Thanks,
    Wunjo
