Unexpected mouse warping when using Game streaming software.

*Description*

When using game streaming tools, Eg. "Sunshine / Moonlight" after clicking on the backdrop to move the character (right button or camera (left button), or to click on the party/raid interface, when the mouse button is released the mouse pointer warps to the top left of the screen. This makes it very hard to play the game as I am continually resetting the mouse on my mouse pad after every action.

*Bug Reproduction Steps*

Install Sunshine streaming server on the PC with Ashes of Creation, and connect from another PC, hold down left or right button to move the camera around (or click on party interface), obviously not using action cam mode.... observe the mouse jump to 0,0 (top left) whenever the mouse button is released. NOTE: it will not do this the very first time after entering the server, or after using the settings menu! This behaviour makes it impossible to access pull down menus such as "leave party", because the mouse pointer is warped away from the menu, and the menu disappears.

*Expected Result*

When the mouse button is released, the cursor always reappears where ever it was before the action was taken

*Actual result*

The mouse is warped to 0,0 (top left) of the screen.

NB:
I have updated my version of Sunshine from "Oct 2023" to "Oct 2024" (latest), and also upgraded my Nvidia driver to the latest, and no change... I also tried the different mouse capture modes, and disabling controller and touch pad capture, with no change.. (I did also start testing with Steam streaming and it appeared to be the same issue, however the DDoS started an I lost connection before I tested every scenario)

Also. the very first time after logging in, it works, and the mouse pointer returns in it's original position after the first click/move... and also after opening the game settings. (not just the ESC menu, but actually opening settings), the first time after returning to the game it works as expected also.

Since the streaming software should not know what is on the screen, let alone was was on the screen 30 seconds ago, the fact that performing some action in the game causes this to work correctly 1 time, suggests that the fault lies with the game, so I am reporting it here. I know that this is probably a small percentage of users, but I hope it can be resolved as it seems simple, but it game breaking for those people.

In case it wasn't clear, the client for sunshine is "moonlight", tools available here:-
    https://moonlight-stream.org/
    https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine

Obviously you can add the Intrepid launcher as a non-steam game in the steam client, and use steam's streaming facility, but it's nowhere near as powerful/flexible and the same problems are evident, as far as I was able to test with the DDoS issues at the end of testing this week.... will update this post after the next test to verify that.

Note that for games that are not available on Consoles like Xbox or the Steam Deck as well as other platforms like Mac, Linux, Android etc... this is the best option for simple access from those devices... you can even play on a ChromeOS laptop... so this is a pretty powerful tool used by many people.

I might have discovered the source of this issue, and replicated it on another UE5 game... I can't test until the next time the server is running, but will update here with possible workaround when I do.

I have confirmed that plugging a mouse into the game streaming server does indeed fix it, and that it's not the fault of the streaming software itself, as it also impacts Steam streaming (I added Ashes of Creation to Steam as an external app, and then used Steam to stream it to another machine, but the same issue occurred until I plugged a physical mouse in). Now I need a rack mounted mouse... LOL

Try unplugging any controller you have plugged in, that is what caused it for me.
