Q key for basic attacks . .

Im not really a fan of this and yes im sure that it could just be key bound to LMB but I guess im just trying to understand the mentality behind it. I feel like default could have been LMB to begin with but is there maybe some reason why players should keep it at Q. Again i understand its a potentially easy key bind swap but im trying to dive deeper into the philosophy I guess. Just looking for healthy discussion about it and not trolling please. Is this the blend of action vs tab target auto attack classic MMO style? Thoughts?

Blown past falling sands…
I am just holding down an extra key to get that classic MMO style back at this point.
I have also resisted the temptation to write a "mouse side" macro that spams the attack button as a toggle when I hit my opener. I could completely circumvent the the system and make it classic if I wanted.
I would not have said this three years ago, but I think they should just lean more into classic mmo combat. None of the action stuff they have done feels very action combat at this point.
This is my personal feedback, shared to help the game thrive in its niche.
