Accentuate cultural markers through food

I believe that strong cultural markers for different races of fantasy universes are essential on several levels: they help players to create an identity to their character; they allow to bring diversity to the universe; participate in consistency and immersion.
I trust Intrepid to create beautiful architecture, and I hope that the dialogues and stories of the characters of different races will be very marked by their respective cultures.
Having said this, the choice not to give race-specific bonuses/malus seems like an excellent choice in terms of freedom, but leaves a powerful cultural marker tool unexploited.
I think this could be added to AOC, without adding skills that would count in the high-level metagame. It would simply be to give culinary abilities, or in terms of edible food, specific to certain races.
Examples:
- The Nikuäs can eat some poisonous fish, or have a better regeneration with fish.
- Ren'Kais can benefit from some of the benefits of meat, even raw, but only 50%
- The Pi'Rais can eat leftovers from felled trees (roots, leaves...), even eat salad without being bored!
- Tulnars can eat mushrooms from caves, or poisonous mushrooms

I could see potential for a race to treat a specific recipie as a higher tier then normal as a simple effect, or for them to get a bonus effect exclusive to them. If NPC food vendors sell foods which all belong to the nodes dominant race cuisine then you have both flavor and a soft benifit to thouse players while still letting player use said foods or craft ones specific to them. The player run taverns can sell what they want which could let players theme their taverns, "Dunir Alehouses", "Tex-Ork-Barbeque" etc.
I don't have much to add here, I'm obviously in support of things I already enjoy in other games which aren't too difficulty to do.
