Feedback - Leveling and loot while in groups vs solo.

Steven confirmed yesterday, via discord chat, that while in a group larger than 3 killing mobs at a higher level, loot drop chance drops. Why? This almost seems to push for solo game play but can't do that either. Because a solo player at level 10 can get one shot by a level 10 mob. This is such poor game design. Thoughts?

Risk vs reward probaly? it one of there core tennets of the game and larger the group the less risky the farming. I dont see an issue with loot drop reduction tbh since u get more Xp in larger groups due to faster clear speed with minimal reduction so trade off is also less loot i guess.
That being said i would assume the loot penalty would vary or atleast make sense it does based on star level of mobs so 3 star mob might have full drop rate for party of 8 since it designed for 8 man encounter i would assume where 1 star is probaly 3 man and so on

That's not what Steven said at all

here is the quote: " There is not a negative multiplier on loot in party." and "Currently, if your level in comparison to the monster is greater than 3 levels apart there will be a slight fall off in drop efficiency. In a party, this uses the greatest disparity as the whole parties comparison. If you or a member of the party is greater than 9 levels apart from the monster, then drop chance and exp is not possible"

    You sure about that?

Yes, that has nothing to do with the amount of players in your party, that has to do with level disparities between you/your party members and the mobs you are killing. You can be solo, have 2 players or 16 players in a group and the loot drop be the same

Lets highlight a different portion and see if this clears things up...

As everyone else already said, it's not based on the number of people in your party. It's based on the lowest and highest level within your party. If anyone in your party is 3 levels over or under an enemy, your entire group gets reduced exp and drops from it.

If anyone in your party is 9 levels over or under an enemy, no one in your group gets any exp or loot from it.
