Please consider re-implementing Crouch and Prone. Including crouch and prone mechanics in Ashes of Creation would significantly enhance both gameplay depth and player immersion. These mechanics offer tactical advantages, such as improved stealth and strategic positioning, which can enrich combat scenarios and PvP encounters. For classes that rely on stealth or ranged attacks, the ability to crouch or go prone adds realism and versatility, allowing players to utilize the environment more effectively—such as taking cover behind obstacles or reducing their visibility in tall grass. Furthermore, these features align with modern gaming standards and player expectations, potentially broadening the game's appeal. Implementing crouch and prone options would contribute to a more dynamic and engaging experience, supporting diverse playstyles and fostering a more immersive world.

  • this is not a survival game, makes no sense having this. Plus, the game has bigger problems for example no real bounty hunting and lame wars
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.

This would introduce more animations which would have to be produced, and likely would increase amount of information the game clients and servers have to exchange. For what reason?

It’s two emotes on a toggle. He’s not asking for stealth, he’s asking for two emotes on a toggle which hide the nameplate.

    It’s fine.

What's a high fantasy mmo where crouching or laying down increased tactical depth?

I mean, great for Insurgency and COD, but when we're talking swords and bows being prone is not an advantage - especially when there's a giant tag over your head.

used it a lot in New world honestly. Made hiding in foliage for PvP really fun for hit and run stuff/ambushes

Interesting - I'll have to youtube some examples. Never played NW. How does 'hiding in foliage' work when you have the name tag? Can you actually hide your tag from other players seeing it until targeted?

Don't bother using NW as an example, people here who never played it will just start parroting youtubers clickbait opinions

nameplates are only visible when a player is in line of sight

It could heighten the Chances to hide in Terrain like high Grass and so on. ;)

Or behind Walls of Ruins. Maybe in some huge Bushes ? I dare say it would make nice sense to have Options for your Character to make itself smaller than when fully standing up.
