We need mines added to this game

It would be great to have mines scattered all over the world. The mines should spawn an abundant amount of basic crafting materials like copper, iron, zinc, etc. As well as more rare materials like crystals (ruby, emeralds, etc.) This would also lead to more PvP as I am sure bandits will try to steal materials from players. So, it would serve two purposes. And add more risk and reward to the game. I think this is necessary to add mines because right now low level crafting is tough to do when you need basic materials like cooper and zinc. If we had a place that is guaranteed to spawn these materials. It would make low level crafting way easier to do.

Big true. Lumberjacking feels in a great spot right now, but mining feels like i'm spending well over half the time spent running around trying to find even basic stone to level up on, much less the insanely rare copper/zinc that is required to upgrade buildings.

It is stated that some nodes will have more particular resources than others...which may or may not have more denser forests and less ores or visa-versa.

So you will likely have have hot spots of contention.

Global ore dispersion might need tweaking but you cant expect to level up you crafting to max on the 1st day.

Having a mine with more particular ore nodes in greater density makes sense...but having the stuff on tap abundantly will kill the economy.

Everyone is trying to do the same thing in a restricted area of testing so gathering materials are always going to be in limited short supply...

Wait to see the whole world pan out before trying to rationalize unlimited resource points...

Stoneis absolutly everywhere :p ore and gems not so much though

If you want a painful thing to level hunting/animal husbandry is currently the hardest to level for gathering/processing.
animal husbandry for example gonna take 100-200g to get to level 10

I disagree, I like the aesthetic of a mine... But 'spawning abundant ore' would be bad for both the in game economy, and the Gatherer gameplay loop. Metal should be rare. It creates value, a purpose for gatherer mains like me, conflict for resources, and just plain excitement at finding something rare. Rarity can be frustrating, but for a game that's trying to create an interlocking player driven economy.. it's very important. It means people NEED to work together if they want to progress quickly. A gatherer main like me would team up with a smith for example, allowing him to get the metal he needs and allowing me to both serve a useful function and gain trade out of the bargain.

This will not encourage bandits to pvp you, because you're not gonna fight back and they are not gonna go red with the current corruption system and more so BLIGHT. you're 100% safe to farm

Yeah... If ore is abundant why bother stealing it? And if it's abundant, why care if it gets stolen?
Rarity is what drives conflict for gatherers.

I could see that happening as more mountainous nodes become upgraded which may unlock a nearby mine

lol for whatever reason my mind went to landmines - then Crowfall (RIP) and the mines one of the ranger builds used in there...I like your idea better.

I was thinking about this the other day actually, I really miss having little underground areas to explore. I do agree there should be caves and mines with extra ore spawns, but I also want them to function as dungeons as well.

Think Black Burrow or Befallen in EQ,
    Molten core in WoW

Being underground and in a cave adds an extra sense of danger an excitement.

I have heard about the Ursine caves but haven't investigate them in particular yet, but I do hope caves/mines/canyons and things get added in.

I expect Ursin Cave to have some nice ores to mine but nope, nothing.

Yes, there should be caves and underground mini dungeons with some nice resources being gatekeep by strong mobs.

Would remind me of Ultima Online - lots of dangers in the mining caves beside pvp.
