Low level crafting is completely out of whack

I think there needs to be major changes to low level crafting. I understand this game is grindy but the problem is that your crafting skill will fall way behind your level extremely fast even if you spend hours gathering resources and crafting. This makes all craftables obsolete by the time you actually have the ability to make the item. It is a far better to just grind for glint and just purchase items or grind mobs for a particular item than it is to craft an item. This is because the amount of effort to craft low level items is honestly insane for what you’re getting. I don’t think low level crafting should literally take this long. It’s literally 10 times as long as it should be to get very mediocre items. Not to say that crafting shouldn’t take time to progress. Just that it should be very easy to level your trade skills and collect the items to make your weapons in the beginning and become a bigger commitment as you progress. My guild has spent dozens of hours collectively to craft even basic items and the amount of effort we put in does not seem worth the few items that are already extremely obsolete for our level we were able to make. Please fix this so that starting trade skills is not an extremely unrewarding experience like it is currently.

Is very hard to progress in herbalism. Most herbs around Lionhold can't be harvested under Novice.

That’s another problem viral low level resources are a pain to find even though they should be plentiful. Gathering and crafting are both in a really bad state right now sadly.

This is partially true. The problem is that there are not that many starting/novice resources around the starting zones. But there are so much of them a bit further from the starting zones, so in fact there are more than enough, just their position is not where you would expect it. Some places have like 20+ herbs near each other and then 50m away another set of 20 of them, you just need to know where to look and to notice those.

For the crafting, yes partially - (lets take mining and jewelcrafting) like in other games you have a gathering profession with which you collect some resources and another you spend them on. Usually, the crafting profession initially has mostly useless things, especially at the time you have gathered enough materials to do some crafting. This being said, in those games you crafting profession initially also can have 'materiel crafts' or things you craft (which do level that crafting profession) that you use to craft other things later. In AoC, you have you gathering profession (mining) then you have your processing profession (stonemasonry) which is that one that creates the 'parts' you are going to use within the crafting profession (jewelcrafting). For example, you farm granite and zinc you (mining) you turn them into granite dust and zinc fragments (stonemasonry) then you craft rings/earrings (jewelcrafting). In a way it is same system but with more steps making it slower but more impactful later on.
For the initial crafts being kind-a useless, yes as to do crafting you need gold and by farming gold you will definitely find better items then the craft itself until a certain point where some craft will be useful. Also depending on the materials used as then have different tiers the basic crafts can be enhanced with better tier mats (but this is a bit RNG).
Overall, the system is fine, but definitely needs some polish. As mentioned, by the time you can actually craft some things you have already outleveled them, making them just a vendor trash (this hopefully changes once you get to apprentice/journeyman) .

The only gathering and crafting profession i feel out of wack (with exception to profession that use ore/gems due to spawn issues) is hunting and animal husbandry, hunting nodes are rarer and further appart normally so it slower than mining/logging/flower picking which are abundant and yield same XP and animal husbandry goinna take roughtly 100-200g to go from 0-10 due to 50-75s crafts.
Level 1-11 leather took less than 40 gnam carcasses and like 70-80 dung/daffodils and you got the dung while farming the gnam carcasses.

Meanwhile im like 20-30g into animal husbandry and im lvl 4 lol

yes this is how i feel too about it, the early level of it is really awful right now to the point where farming humanoid mobs is way better, obviously in theory you can farm legendary resources to craft perfect gear but in the time that'd take you probably could just be max level

Yep, the max rare combo armor for low level is going to be a twink thing that maxed out toons do on alts when they get borred.... I know I plan too...

It would be a shame to see the market flooded with low level made crafted items that nobody wants because they might as well grind and ignore crafted things. This is making me think to only pick up some easy gathering to use for money. I am wondering if food could be useful for stats you might not otherwise have access to. From reading I will skip Animal Husbandry and Hunting until they get fleshed out better.

The one thing I would add, if it is going to take 30+ minutes to process crafts, ie thread, then increase the time out that gets you kicked from the game. I am being forced to sit in one spot for hours, don't kick me from the game because of it.

Flowers are plentiful in New Alea.

Leave your door step Frodo. Go forth and have an adventure.
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

You don't have to stay at the station or logged in for the craft to process. Current iteration is a click and leave it system.
