Brass Energy Spellbook Why?

What is the purpose of a spellbound with non-magical stat. I recently got a brass energy spellbound. As a cleric who is using spellbound for my ranged attack I was excited for the possible upgrade. However, this book is all physical stats. I don't understand the rationale for a physical stat spell book. Thoughts?

Should be spell book not spell bound.

it be like bows, there a spell bow and a normal bow one does magical the other does physical, it allows for say clerics to use bows and have the choice of magical bow since they do magic dmg and your spell book there allows for fighter for example to use a spellbook as offhand if they want.
I feel it come more into play when secndary archtypes are a thing

So it would act as a ranged weapon? Wouldn't a bow be a better weapon?

Not necessarily. There are also Roleplay sides to this choice as well. Should a tank or fighter just use a bow? What about a ShadowKnight or a Paladin who uses an offhand wand or spell book WITH combat stats not magical ones? I can see the appeal for this as most range items for melee combatants are simply a "stat stick" anyhow. This allows for stats + ranged application

not always like maybe u want the status effects that come with the spell book or wand in your kit, or what happens when secondary come into play for example fighter + mage might allow their greatsword to combo off elemental status effect so they might want a spell book or want to trigger those effects. or they want AoE on there auto range attacks which is what spell book offers and bows do not.
The only class that seems to get funneled into a specific weapon is ranger cause one of there passives is bows finisher attacks reduce CD on 2 of their skills by 3 seconds and i dont think any other class has that kinda passive.

tbh in zerg v zerg spellbook probaly better fight fighter than a bow since the aoe effect hits more targets which i think also builds up there momentum faster cause more hits.

Pretty much it's a ranged weapon that can aoe, a bow might be better for st
