Mayors & Voters

BellucciiBelluccii Member, Alpha Two
I know i may have created a revolution in my other thread regarding "Big Guilds Take Over". now i have another concern for you guys. and the question of our discussion is:

WOULDN'T IT BE ZERG-ABLE TO VOTE?

How? Why? I Can Create Multiple Characters, All are citizens of the same node. what would stop zergs from creating 5 characters and vote for 1 person. wouldn't that break the balance of the game?

would also be nice if a moderator gave us an idea regarding this subject. i am very curious. is voting going to be rigged? or is it going to be account bound? or is it going to be a simple Overthrow to the mayor?

Scientific is only one of 4 types of nodes. Go live in the non-zergable node :)

You want to say, only divine is non zergable?
In economic node you can funnel gold to the zerg leader who will get the major.
In Military node - the latest info is that its FFA battle. this means that if there are a lot of players in the fight that are from the zerg they can play together. Yes Intrepid can make this harder by hiding name plates of the avatars you control and ect. but when the zerg are in voice chat, they can still manage

But yes 1/4 is not the worst case scenario, we can just live in divine nodes :D

Most likely divines will also be zergable, cause a zerg will be able to do more quests and faster.

I always expected that Military node would be the most soloable, but that went down the drain for now. I'll definitely be giving them feedback on that part, once we get around to military nodes, but we'll have to see.

In other words, my jokey answer is most likely impossible to actually do :'(

    well the wiki says:
Divine node mayors are elected based on the citizen who earns the most PvE favor with the node
Most of the devotion-oriented tasks are going to be on an individual basis and won't utilize outside support.[8]

So this makes me think that its individual. So Even tho zerg as a group do total more quests, individual quests shouldnt be more.

The comparison is simple. A quest of "talk to npc" gives you 1 node point. A quest of "kill normal mob X" gives you 2 points. A quest of "kill a local boss" gives you 10 points.

Who do you think will be able to do the boss quest first - a solo player or someone in a zerg, which is trying to put a mayor in that node?

If its like this, then yes, zerg will win. Where you got this info for the points from?

It's a supposition on what those quests will most likely be, because there is no other possible design for quests that couldn't be zerged. Even if, for some reason, there's only "talk to npc" quests - zerg can PK others who come to those NPCs and then only their member will have the most points.

If there's puzzle quests - that is way easier to solve with a zergmind.

And I'm saying all of this as someone who wants to try soloing a mayorship of a divine node, so stuff's stacked against me already :'(

You have a point, But i can still see glimpse of hope there.
Like if the quests are not the same for everyone, but everyone gets quests in different places. This way the Zerg wont know where you are doing your quests. Maybe they can include some of the instanced content here also (maybe the catacombs that are procedurally generated under the divine node can be place to get points for major).
