Loving alpha some things noted over the last 2 weekends

first and foremost i want to say i have enjoyed all my time testing Ashes, and to be honest this alpha feels better than some early accesses and launch that i have been a part of. crashes, maintenance and Queues were to be expected and even still felt minimum to me. Great work.
so here is a short list of things i note to feedback on . some may well be in the works or planned a bit father out in alpha.
1. when logging in, if the server list would default to the last server you played on or had a default server check box of some sort we could check, would be a great QOL
2. an in game friends list , so when you are out adventuring and get a random group , if the people are great you can flag them as a friend to be able to see when they are on and re group back up another great QOL here
3. quest journal and tracked quests, if it would remember the quests and commissions i had tracked and not reset every time you log in another fantastic QOL
4. item linking (if it does exist we couldnt find it) items link in to chat when looting and rolling. it would be great is there was a way to link items in to chat to sell or over to friends etc. another great QOL
5. also along the lines of looting, the need/greed box pop up is very clumsy if it pop up in combat, especially if you are in action mode, you need to change to tab to get mouse and click click, then change back to action and if in a fight this can be deadly. having. A> delay on loot box pop up until out of combat wold be great, or B> hot keys for need, greed, pass, or need all . etc. so they can be click with out changing combat modes and interupting combat as much.
6. when visiting a vendor and selling items the value shows when you hover on item befroe RMB to sell it would great if the confirm to sell pop up window also had the value listed in it.. ie are you sure you want to sell {blankitem} for {x sliver y copper). anotehr QOL
7. loot swapping in bags some tiems as bags get full you need to move some things around to maximize space , some times you can not pick up an item and place it (swap bag to cursor) with another item even if it would fit where the other item was so you cna move things around QOL for sure at early game wiht limited space
8. launcher closing. launcher stay active after closing some times for hours, having to hunt it down in task manager to end process to be able to launch again is annoying and could in some cases not be something some people know how to do or are comfortable doing.

all in all i have loved every minute, of the over 60 hours, of my time testing this amazing world you are building and we are helping shape in the to best MMO that we all have been waiting for.

thank you Steven for sharing you vision with us and letting us partake in the adventure together.

    All very good suggestions especially
    4. Item linking
    5. Keybinds for Need / Greed/ Pass in action mode
    8. Launcher - end task
    9. May I suggest a number 9? Fix the map.

    Map:
    - Why does zooming out further ignore party member locations
    - Make the party member icons bigger. They are so hard to find that you actually have to ask your party members to describe where to find them on the map - that's absurd.

ah yes party members on map, yes option to make those bigger that wasnt on my notes but i remeber that being and issue too
also the text for quantiles in bags need a way to make it bigger.

all im sure in the works but if not please think about it

Good points. I agree with you that the testing is in a good state overall. I can definitely tell this game is/will be a masterpiece.

    The map needs major work.

And the guild panel needs way more info. I'm sure that's already planned.

And why is no one mentioning how cumbersome it is to use your mount? There shouldn't be a cast time, it should require one click instead of two to get mounted, and the whistle is annoying. I started a thread on this, which got no love.

Oh, what about how far the mobs leash?

FFS I had a group of like 8 mobs follow me halfway across the map.

I thought the mob leash was good. Pissing something off felt like a real danger. You had to really bugger off to get them to leave you alone, but they would eventually. It caused me to really think twice about what I was about to do at various times.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're going for the a sort of mount system like Archeage had. Sure, right now it's just a bare bones implmentation, but eventually when you summon your mount, it will be a companion and it will follow you around, perhaps even have abilities? With this as context the summon time makes sense, because eventually you will call it and it will just be with you. It was honestly quite cool in Archeage.

    100% valid points.

I have enjoyed the Alpha so far and think the team at intrepid is doing a great job. There is always spots that could use work at this stage.

    1) I have said this in other locations but I will say it again here. Add mouse sensitivity slider to the game please!

2)The UI editor needs some work, trying to resize things basically fails utterly and other elements can not be moved at all.

    3) add an in game note taking system, trying to remember items you need for sub recipes that you cant look up in your artisan panel is annoying.

    4) allow us to make permeant marks on our personal map with added notes - let the info be shared across characters on the same account.
