Using referral code after account creation

Is there a way to do so? I created my account years ago but would now like to use a referral code. Do I have to delete my account and sign up again or is there an easier way I'm not aware of?

    Referral codes can only be applied at account creation.
    You'd have to create a new account and use the referral code during the signup process.
