Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

A2 Second Weekend - Feedback, Suggestions & Issues

Since I was testing a lot of new things this weekend, I do have a new compilation of feedback, suggestions and issues I'd like to share
Especially because I kind of accidentally became mayor of a node which gave me some interesting insights into that specific aspect of the game
categorized just like my first one

Mayor & Nodes

- mayor city chat announcements/shouts
I think giving the mayor the power to make node wide announcements in the city chat would be very useful - similar to the good old raid lead messages popping up in the middle of your screen
- storage bugs are still going strong
relogging helps with most and I know most are known issues, but what really should get fixed before next weekend is the one I encountered the most this weekend. My storage would be completely bugged after relogging. The affected tabs are completely empty, I lost hundreds of materials to that, plus the tabs are not usable, they're so bugged I can't even change the type of storage to them
- suggestion to have different tax options for citizens vs non-citizens
I think it would be kind of nice as a mayor to be able to give citizens a reduced tax rate vs non-citizens because the citizens worked to make the node grow and unlock buildings vs people that just visit to use the buildings. Would feel more rewarding I think, but that might just be me
- cancel buy orders
I think it would be nice to at least have the option to cancel buy orders as a mayor, even if it's for a fee
- flying mounts are way too strong
I know the chances of change to the fly mounts are basically zero or less, but I still want to share my thoughts. After playing the first weekend without one, becoming mayor on sunday morning and just having that dragon for one day I think it's waaaaay too strong. Like it literally defeats so many aspects about the game. The advantage you get is basically like activating god mode. I really think there should be AT LEAST a stamina or something bar to not let you fly infinitely. Better would be to turn them into gliding mounts instead of free flying. Or reduce the flying speed so much that you need the same amount of time to get somewhere even though not having to follow roads not so ever so that you at least only get the safety from flying but I personally think this is ridiculous and nobody should have that power if it's not accessible for everybody. But yea I do know you can't really do that even if you wanted because of the sold things and kickstarter so... just my two cents
- node stuff needs better descriptions/tooltips
The descriptions and information given on literally anything within a node are so sparse that there definitely needs to be some improvement happening there in my opinion. While I do get the idea of having to try and find out things yourself, this affects possibly hundreds of people. Mainly talking about building, node upgrades, information about citizenship and such
- mayoral election is not good atm
So I know this might be because we're in an alpha. But even when something is planned to be added, you can still learn from what you don't have so far, if that makes sense. So I think there needs to be a confirmation window when signing up for election, also you should be able to see that you did so somewhere. There needs to be information on when which things start and for how long they are going, like the voting phase. For those nodes that have elections later, it'd be great for candidates to be able to put some info about themselves in the voting window and such
- citizenship is not limited to one character per account
this might simply not be in yet during the alpha, since I know later you're only supposed to be able to be a citizen with one character though - I thought it might be worth mentioning as somebody who tried with 2 lvl 10+ characters
- let mayor disable node functions for corrupted players?
I think that could be an interesting option and tool to let nodes decide to either more support or prevent (toxic) PvP



Chat

- please change the city chat default color
Both say-chat and city-chat being white by default can be very confusing and makes it hard to not get confused
- chat filter is strange
The chat currently filters words like "whole" because of "hole" but it doesn't filter actual swear words and worse. Also I personally think you should be able to turn off chat filters completely, many reasons for that, one being able to report people only really works when you can see what kind of disgusting things they wrote
- chat report function
this becomes more and more important I feel, as from my personal impression the toxicity levels are rising rapidly atm
- whispering needs /r
please add a /r command to reply to the most recent received whisper as it feels really tedious to type out "/whisper name" every time
- whispering sometimes just swallows messages whole
sometimes whisper messages just won't go through and disappear. no "player not found" nothing, just gone into the void
this is especially frustrating with not being able to arrow up to copy the last sent message



Combat, Monsters, Skills

- long fights can feel very static and boring (healer)
with a tank doing the tank things well, with stronger monsters, we were a group of around 16 people, I was basically just standing there auto attacking, not moving an inch for what felt like ages, only waiting for the tank to drop to then heal them up again. It wasn't really challenging whatsoever it was just staring at the tank's HP bar and auto attacking
The only times things got interesting was when people accidentally pulled more monsters and almost wiped everyone :)
- weapon mastery very simple atm
I wish the weapon mastery trees would be more diverse. Especially with things like spell bows still only having physical skill trees feels kind of sad to me. Also would love to see completely different trees for each weapon, for example wand vs book
- monsters teleporting due to lock-on attacks
I personally don't like all these lock-on attacks from common monsters with common attacks. I think there is a place for attacks that cannot be dodged, but not by things like the basic bite from a wolf. To me personally the monsters just teleporting after you and still hitting you no matter with how much speed you go feels terrible. I think kiting should almost always be possible even if it requires a lot of skill and practise
- PvP still way too abusable
This needs to be addressed quickly imo, because people start killing low and new players in the starting areas due to being bored and not having to face real consequences
- make it harder for people to pull monsters into you for corruption-free kills
with the way the aggro and stuff currently works this is highly abusable. I honestly think with enough effort it's okay to work but right now it's way too easy. So you can basically just free farm players without going red and even getting more loot because they're green just by pulling monsters into them



Mounts & Caravans

- mount bug making them attackable
this bug currently is quite annoying as your mount will often get attacked and killed by people within the city that don't even have to flag to do so
- flying mounts occasionally just stop flying
sometimes the flying mount I have will just stop flying and drop down. Can be stopped by pressing space to go up again, but it does not look intended at all
- caravans can bug and get destroyed upon crashing
- rafts should also give the defense buff to the driver
- clerics can heal the base caravans with ~13k hp per second - intended?



QoL

- fishing action skill in skill bar when unlocked
After doing the starter quest I feel it would be nice for the fishing action to appear in your skill bar just like other skills you unlock, because right now for new players it's really hard to find since it's hidden behind multiple clicks that nobody tells you about
- no party marker limit in raids
When in a raid, having multiple healers and such, it would be nice to lift the marker restriction from one each to maybe 5? that way you could mark properly
- leaving party when logging out
right now you leave the party upon crashing or relogging, this is not game breaking but a little annoying
