I have found the crafting system a bit difficult as far as making gear for my low level character. Does anyone have any hints they would like to share? :-)
Thanks

I'm in the same boat my friend, can't really wrap my head around it and it seems fairly complicated but maybe I didn't try enough yet. Would also like some tips!

Kill grem for carcasses (~10 for a full suit?) and droppings. To get a carcass you need to harvest a rarish dead grem that has a target symbol over the body. Prepare to kill a bunch
Gather daffodils (harder to find, but you only need one per piece of armor)
Chop some wood for fuel. You'll do this several times, almost every crafting/processing step requires fuel

Go to craft stations west of Lionhold
Turn carcasses into hides, 1 minute each
While there, use leatherworking station to look at requirements to make leather armor. Vendor there has recipes

Go to farm west of craft stations, across river
Make mulch with daffodils, 1m each
    Buy water and cotton seeds
    Farm cotton, 1m each

Go to weaving station west of Lionhold
    Make cotton thread, 1m each

    Go to leatherworking station
    Make river stalker armor

To make cloth armor it's similar. Less leather but more thread - 2 carcasses should be enough, but you need to gather a lot of flax. Assuming you can find the flax, this is the easiest armor to make

Also when grem respawn it seem to be a 10% spawn rate to become a harvestable varient (farmed 50 carcasses and roughly 1 in every 10 grem i kills respawned a harvestable version)
So for these make sure ur farming a spawn of them and not running around looking for natural spawns or you might be awhile :P Higher hunting node work this way grem/ravens/spiders seem to respawn as harvestable version compared to wolfs/bears and anythign above that has set spawn spots

lvl 10 crafting recipes get complicated :p and you either gonna need a guild co ordinating or wait for a marketplace to buy the mats u cant craft :P

Crating is hard when you only have 5 mayors and, if I Remeber right, you can only make two crafting stations at a level 3 node. So you can't have every crafting station.

Level 3 nodes get 4 buildings, problem is no one building anythign cause no one doing the mayor commision or turning in resources to get the boxes to make the buildings (Didnt help that 3 nodes are all trying to make a smithy going by resource requests and there no copper on the server to make those crates)

Only real issue I’ve had, and I’m sure I am not alone, is the scarcity of zinc and copper nodes. I think a lot has to do with Tier 2 resources no one can farm without the appropriate crafting resources/shops to get that next tier tool.

I’ve been able to create full sets except the helmets, which are likely a recipe drop.

I am not sure if flax was scarce during the first weekend, but second weekend it was everywhere.

Hard part right now for crafting is the somewhat janky storage bug. Not as bad as the commodities dude taking all your gold, but pretty bad. But this is a performance test so consider all that as donations to the test gods.

yep im not sure if metal nodes are bugged or every biome gets a rare/uncommon resource and riverlands just happens to be ore and gems and another biomes might just have ore as a common resource however we only have the one biome so it an issue atm when more biomes become active then it might not be as much of an issue.

Flax was pretty common in first weekend once u know what u were looking for it was fairly easy to gather you can get flax via farming station too very easily too though

mind you if you need plate armor (zinc) it is a little bit more ridiculous than cloth or leather but doable (but when you first start out you have no idea how to even begin to find it since its fairly rare as of past weekend), most of the lvl 1 crafts blueprints can be bought by the npc's where the trainer person is that lets you upgrade the profession. You can find the recipes by luck from farming humanoid npcs, but if you start doing that you'll find out its easier to get gear that way :#

if you want to level the profession though thats where the imbalance of the system atm crops up more

I've been camping nodes for awhile and one thing I noticed is usualy when the server comes up it spawns a lot of basalt in place of other nodes, on top of that it takes like 30~60 minutes for stuff like copper and zinc to respawn.

Spawn times should be maybe 5 minutes the lack of resources, the initial spawns and the long respawn time makes it seem like there are no resources out there. I wish they would add some sort of mine, one that maybe had some decent level mobs guarding the nodes so no low levels can willy nilly clean the place out. Make it for lv 10+ people to survive in so they can catch up on crafting and fight over nodes in a more confined space. I did get aggressive with people on node spawns but sense everything is so spread out I didn't find it to be worth my time being that enemies will drop gear for you.
