Embracing Verticality - Gliders!

Wanted to make a short post to discuss Gliders in Ashes. I'm personally against flying Mounts entirely, but since there is a lot of verticality to the map, I'd love to see it utilized by introducing some sort of Glider to the game that is freely usable. This would not only offer a fun toy to use when jumping off higher grounds, it would also enable different paths for exploration (Hidden Caves high up in the mountains, Gliding Puzzles).
I can't think of a game that had gliders, where they didn't enhance the fun of the game in one way or another. So I really hope Intrepid considers the introduction of Gliders at some point down the road.
Let me know your guys' thoughts.

I hate them.
More importantly it's close to a form of fast travel.
It ruins land mount balance and value.
The map should really be designed with gliders in mind and that is just extra design constraints.
Gliders have been shoe horned into so many games these days and it always takes something away from the game.
If I had more time, I would write a shorter post.
Can just make them the same speed as Ground Mounts. And you obviously descent over time, so the use cases are really limited. Not to mention the fact you need to get up to high ground in the first place. Really not sure what your argument is.
You should think of it more as a tool to get down cliffs in style rather than a fast travel option. Like seriously, do you prefer people just jumping off cliffs to get down like they're doing right now?
I noticed an extremely annoying Mechanic, that when You fall down a few Meters -> You start piling up MAAAAASSIVE Amounts of Damage.
Like - > : " Hey !! Let us prevent Aszkalon and everyone else who plays a Hunter, to do it like in World of Warcraft and use the Hunter-"backjump" to break the Fall mid-way before landing on the Ground and dying to prevent Fall-Damage !! Now we make it so that Player Characters die in the HARMLESS AIR when they fell through a few Meters down. "
I noticed and i am not amused.
When i fall down somewhere -> "somewhere" where i can fall a certain Distance before smashing into the Ground and brutally dying from Fall-Damage,
I WANT TO DIE through smashing into the Ground. Not through the severals Tens of Meters of Air above the Ground.
Why i like Gliders ? Why i felt the need to type in this annoying little Story here ? Easy. We all know Gliders will prevent this, right ?
Falling -> Fall-Damage -> and the Mechanic of Fall-Damage up to the Players Death -> needs to get upgraded and updated. It can't be - that the coming MMO with the assumedly newest Engine of all Time for MMO's - behaves worse than a Game with an Engine at the turn of the millennium.
I climbed up the Ruins around " Aela " - the beautiful Capital City which lies in Ruins,
i climbed up into Places VEEEERY hard to reach with taking a run-up - "AND" using the Hunter-Jump which i skilled to function into every Direction i want,
reached Places where it went down like half a hundred Meters should i fall down -> and it was sometimes "VERY. SHORT." Differences whetever i would make it, or crash down to my Death,
than i noticed this almost over-the-top annoying "Glowing Wall" of where the lower/southern Half of Aela is instanced and/or the likes -> and it even pushed me piece by piece of a bit "off Ruins" on the South-West going further down the Map into direction of South,
sadly i didn't make a Video of it because i am not a Video Creator. Just an Explorer for myself,
but a Glider could have made this so much easier and more smooth. No need to risk my Character dying on every turn like i am playing an early Mario Brothers Pixel Game. .
This here is not supposed to be just a Rant. I am just mentioning the Facts here. I was only two Weekends now in the first Spot-Tests of Phase 1 -> and i am already noticing the lack of a Glider.
The Riverlands are a wide, wide Plane. Even if it is just a tiny to medium-Sized Biome compared to some other Areas which the Game is supposed to have at Release. Gliding would travelling easier as well from some Points. And be it only to save half to One a Minute from riding on these atrociously slow Mounts.
Well at least they inserted a tiiiiiiny Buff in Mount-Speed for a few Seconds like every half a Minute. A tiny less cancerous an Experience. Which i am already thankful for.

I don't think they are good for the game and I will keep putting that feedback out there.
@Hinotori
If everything on that Wiki made it into the game it would be a mess. If you have been following ashes for very long you would understand the changes that have happened over time.
If something is discovered to actively make the game worse they will tweak it or remove it. Steven's words, not mine.
It's very possible that gliders are proven to be too exploitable and removed.
Unless they prove me wrong with solid implementation of gliders. I am going to be against them and I am going to be vocal about it.
If I had more time, I would write a shorter post.
