Prioritize systems

So i played the game for several hours today. I leveled my Mage to 5 and i leveled my Lumberjacking 5. Then i was advised to travel to Winstead where i could buy some better items from the equipment vendor.

Needless to say the starting zone is a disaster zone breaking under the stress of the high player count. And obviously there have been server stability issues and there is a massive amount of pervasive desynch.

But after having got to Winstead i logged off in frustration and have no desire to continue playtesting the game. Here's why.

On my way to winstead i found multiple instances of monsters standing around on the road. Skeletons in daylight for example, which i thought were only supposed to spawn at night. Sometimes these mobs only appear in my field of view when they're way too close to me and i'm not sure if that's normal, due to desnych, or my GPU settings. In any case i will move around them hoping i don't get aggro and continue on my way. Randomly at times, however, while travelling on the road i will suddenly take damage from an unknown source. No mobs in sight, nothing following, just take damage. That's not great to be honest. And i'm sure this is a problem the devs are aware of because i've experienced it multiple times in just a few hours of gameplay.

So eventually i get to the gates of winstead and think i'm safe except there's what appears to be a Bear stuck just outside the gates. It isn't moving but doesn't attack me either as i ride past it. Okay.. i think, it jsut must be bugged out or something.

I'm now in Winstead at the Chapel and dismount off my Horse. I'm at 85HP because of the damage i suffered from invisible sources on the road over. I run around a little, talk to some NPCs, try to interact with the glowing tree thinking it was an attunement thing. Nothing happens to me, i figure i'm probably safe and didn't aggro anything on the way in.

After about 5minutes i get back on my horse and ride down the hill where the equipment vendor and fruit stands are. The equipment vendor was what i was looking for so i can buy and upgrade my gear. I dismount from my horse and immediately die from what appears to be a small explosion like effect. Wtf?? My damage logs says i was dealt 95DMG from YourCharacterProfileSetting or something like that (sorry i don't remember the exact wording). But no mention of a spell name, no mention of a monster name, just random gibberish hit me for 95DMG out of nowhere as i dismounted from my horse after i had been in town for several minutes prior.

This isn't the first time something similar to this experience happened to me by the way. And that's just in several hours of gameplay. Needless to say i'm really frustrated with the whole experience. I know this is an Ampha test but what really bothers me isn't that i'm dying randomly to buggy things, invisible mobs or spells, and things like that - but to make matters worse when i do die to random shit like this i also drop half of my gathered materials which other players can pickup and steal. That's what really annoys me. I died to god knows what and lost a ton of tree logs that i'd spent gathering.

So my suggestion to the dev team is to prioritize systems that need to be fixed and tested first and disable those that need to be tested last. Like maybe for the sake of the current tests, maybe players shouldn't drop their glint and gathering materials on death guys?? Especially when death is completely unpredictable?? It just makes the whole experience much worse than it needs to be.

In a similar vein, maybe you should turn off PvP for the time being until you've managed to fix the server stability/desynch issues, or until you have better systems in place to prevent griefing of popular streamers like what happened to Asmongold when he tried to play the game.

So that's all i have to say for now. I think you need to make a list of systems that need testing in order of priority and consider turning some systems on and off based on what requires immediate attention. Consdier disabling certain features of certain systems if having them on results in a worse test environment than if they were temporarily off. And once the mlost important problems like server stability and desynch are fixed then you can start turning on all these other things and test them accordingly.

Anyway, good luck guys!
