Questions about the window of time, for when updating servers occur.

Heya there Intrepid.

First off, I really want to emphasize, that I wholeheartedly enjoy Ashes of Creation, I want to see it all the way to completion, and I want to play the game once it releases fully. I truly do. And I hope you will continue all your hard work on knocking out bugs, errors and everything else that falls therein.

But... and this is said with a heavy heart...

I cannot understand, why many of the sudden updates, seem to happend very much around 10 am Pacific. Or converted, at 7 pm CET. Just this current weekend ( 8-9-10 November ) Both Saturday and Sunday have been hit with a sudden closing of the servers, to upload an update.

And please don't get me wrong is this post I am creation. I am FOR updates. I am FOR patches! This is an Alpha, an unfinished project, a WIP if you will. So of course updates, patches, unexpected downtime is needed, required and to be expected! Fully 100% behind this!

What I am trying to bring to light with this post, is the concerns, worries or heartfelt sadness that comes from a tester, who has most of his available gaming hours in the evening, and have been forced, on multiple occasions, to suddenly have his hope, joy and/or enjoyment snuffed out.

Okay.. okay.. I might have played this a bit much.
But generally speaking, the message stands, and I hope you understand where I am coming from.

As a CET-zone tester, it has occured some times now, that updates take place in my window of available gametime. Limiting my already possible options. And with the updates having been set at/around 10 AM Pacific, I will dare say, that I am sure other EU testers have felt it the same way. Truthfully I can only speak 100% of a few IRL friends, who also feel this. But as said, I dare say, that this is a feeling shared by many EU testers.

I wrote this earlier in the Discord channel for General Alpha 2:"

I don't mind having updates over the weekend. I'm all for it, since that is when they have people report them and they are able to fix it.
But as stated by others: Over the past few weekends of testing, also accounting the Pre-Alpha tests, updates have been happing at/right around 10 AM Pacific. Meaning the CET is 7 pm.

Just as the evening is upon us, giving the casual testers with family an option to play. Or if one had plans during the day, now comes the evening to test. But now it becomes 9 pm. Giving a very limited option to play test anything. Especially group content, as it takes time to organize.

TL:DR: Could the timeframe for updating the servers maybe be changed at times, to accommodate various timezone testers the hopefull possability of testing in their own timezone Primetime? "

And the same question also stands here, on this forum post, which truthfully I have a hard time writing, becasue I do not want to make others feel annoyed or harrased in any shape. But I am also starting to, almost "crave", some insight into the decisions on when the updates are to take place. But I know I am in no position to neither demand, crave or fully ask for such.
I am just a consumer, of an unfinished project, and as YT phenomonon "Narc" so eloquently states " I am but a guy, high on copium. " This too applies for me.

I want to see this game go all the way. I want to be part of the journey, the process, the ups and downs, the highs and the lows. But being sat in front of the PC, longing to get into the game after a long day with my family, doing acitvities or visiting friends, and then being met with an unexpected update, is truly a heartbreaking feeling. Knowing I almost surely will not be online tonight, before I have a day ahead of me tomorrow.

Best regards
- Bragias Foehammer aka. Rasmus Sonne.

PS: Once again, I want to say, thank you for all your hard work on Ashes, both prior, present and what is to come. I am behind you all the way! :D

Bumping this up again, as another unplanned/unscheduled update is being pushed, at 19.20 in the evening, CET. Keeping this updated with instances of events happening in EU Primetime. Events I feel have an option to be placed elsewhere. But I am looking to be corrected and/or explained the case of why the updates happend so frequently in this timewindow.

It was 10AM PST. Good time for the studio to do so.
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.
