Mining Pylons don't seem to do anything

I tried two and they didn't find any extra resources, improve resources in the area (everything I mined was common rarity), xp was unchanged, and the area was tiny. They also have a 30 minute cooldown on use. Maybe they aren't really implemented? If that is the case then remove them from the shop please.
