Mount Skin Question

Ages ago I purchased a few cosmetic packs to support the development as I really enjoy the idea of this game

There was one that I received called Drake of the Canopy. The wiki states: "Drake of the Canopy was a cosmetic flying or gliding mount skin in a pre-order pack."

I was wondering If this cosmetic would only be available to mayors that have flying mounts as this seem very unrealistic for the average player at least at the moment. As the map expands and areas/nodes become more available maybe this will change but I imagine mayors will still be in the double digits even during release.

This was the item I was most excited for and at the moment I am feeling like it will just sit in my inventory unless gliding mounts are a thing and aren't giga-turbo rare like mayor mounts. I never heard anything about these in the streams and stuff I watched but do realize I easily could have missed it.

I know skins are a ways away but I cannot stop thinking about this lately.

You will need to acquire the proper mount to apply the skin to in game then apply the skin.
