Guild War Just led to griefing

Member, Alpha Two
My guild had an interesting interaction over the weekend that has me wondering if this is just a bad experience due to the alpha and existing bugs and changes not made yet, or if this is working as intended. If the latter is true, it has me kind of worried about the state of pvp.
Without going into unnecessary detail, after a brief altercation between my guild and another larger guild, they declared guild war on us. The guys involved with the altercation were actually closest to their home emberspring so it was the only option to resurrect. The enemy guild was able to repeatedly kill us at the emberspring gaining no corruption because we were within a pvp event. Each kill still gave my players xp debt and loss of materials. Now, guild wars are glitched right now and the war lasted indefinitely which I know is not intended but even without taking that into consideration, is it intended for a group of players to completely lock out another group from playing the game for a set amount of time? What would stop them from declaring war again as soon as the first expires? Is there a cooldown in place for this?
Additionally, my players were able to just drop guild to avoid this from happening which feels like it defeats the purpose of the guild war also. Should there be some sort of prevention in place to stop people from dropping guild mid war? In fact, since the war was glitched we just disbanded the guild and made a new one with the same name completely bypassing the war entirely. It seems like on both sides of this pvp event, nothing seems to flow cohesively and just led to griefing while bypassing the anti griefing system (corruption).
I'm not sure what suggestions I have to make this a better experience but pissing off a larger guild and them having the ability to completely lock you out of the game doesn't feel good. Perhaps this wouldn't have felt so bad without the bugged event lasting forever as there definitely should be some repercussions for messing with a larger guild.
I think even some sort of warning that the war was going to happen would have allowed my guys to realize they needed to get to a different emberspring so they had multiple respawn options or honestly even just allowing us to have multiple saved respawn options by default would probably have avoided most of the issue.
This isn't me complaining about how we were treated by the way, genuinely curious to hear how people feel about the state of guild war events.
