All rangers like kites.

I played ranger for my 2nd of 3 total weekend play tests. I got ranger to 12+ and would have to say the weapon lvls compared to the many buff skills make it hard for any 1 level to feel impactful. For example I get a snare ability, and my weapon allows me to snare more. But then there is an auto snare resist on mobs.. The starter ability feels a bit to spazzy or quick in animation and is a real immediate turn off till you get more abilities to use instead and a longbow helps slow it down. Usually Im one to stack attack speed in games but with the ranger, it's the first time I'd rather stack attack slow lol. My biggest gripe, kiting. Plain and simple all rangers will kite and it needs to feel better and be balanced out somehow. As much as I'm jumping in game for fun, i feel it shouldn't be part of my rotation of buttons to smash for a flat surface pull.

100% agree, the kiting feels absolutely terrible, in pvp its almost impossible to kite anyone, even a cleric will catch you lol, you can't even attack back whilst trying to kite because every single ability we have snares you in place while you cast it, we have a break stun defensive, but every class that can stun has more than one so its also useless, ranger atm just gets locked down and its impossible to get away, also the root is decent in pve but in pvp almost every class can remove it pat level 15 so its pretty useless too and breaks on damage

It might be that my coffee didn't do its thing so I might've misunderstood
Do you want to reduce the attack speed of the ranger?
I feel like I take ages to attack with the longbow. The shortbow, it's ok for me. But the longbow...
Try other classes and see how fast they attack and then you will see that the shortbow is actually the good speed.
