people will get stuck at level 6-8 when everyone is already high level.
solo leveling should be an option aswell... its way to slow now compared to group

I think they have plans to implement a pathway to leveling for people who solo. Realize though that leveling solo should never be as fast as a full group.
I did 8-9 (nearly 10) on my own, since it was 3 am and couldn't find a group.
you can do everything up to about 5 level down and ~3 up alone without loosing too much effectiveness compared to same level.
Unless you are a Cleric, you also find a group supefast in general (you can't walk 2m without seeing another cleric...)
This is the core issue when people complain about a game being 'not solo friendly' or demand 'solo leveling options.' What they’re really saying is, 'I don’t want to level slower than a group, so give me a way to level faster.' But here’s the thing—leveling is supposed to be slow. Games that made leveling too fast, like World of Carebears (you know what I mean), completely gutted their own experience when they went down that path.
Humans are like addicts. You make something a little easier, and suddenly, they want more. Nerf mobs. Make crafting simpler. Cut all timers in half. Remove PvP by making it opt-in only. Next thing you know, people are asking to share nodes, hold hands, sing kumbaya, and share candy and pie—all because they don’t want to put in the effort. Why? Because it’s easier to demand a watered-down experience than to rise to the challenge.
The beauty of Ashes of Creation lies in the fact that it doesn’t cater to this hand-holding mentality. It’s a gem in a sea of games that have traded challenge for convenience. Giving people even the slightest sniff of ease leads to an endless cycle of demands for more—more nerfs, more shortcuts, and less effort. If you want an easy ride, there are plenty of games out there for that. This isn’t one of them, and thank the Void for that.
As it should be in a group based game.
No.
Multiplayer game should not cater to people looking for yet another single player game
There are sooo many single player games out there.
GW2, ESO and WOW to name just a few.
Can we please have one multiplayer game that caters to groups or must all MMO's suffer under the yoke of me, me , me.
Don't care.
Can we please, for the love of all that which doesn't suck, have one just one MMO. A real MMO base on group play.
Please?
Not saying some solo content should not exist.
Not saying solo play should not be a thing.
Solo play should never be able to compete with groups, ever. Not in XP gain. Not in gear. Not in money accumulation.
50% of group at best on the extreme high side.
solo leveling should be an option, but not anywhere near as effective as group play. this is a game meant to bring players together, so get into some groups. i have asked if the XP dampening system could be reworked as its too punishing to groups. so if they changed that maybe itll help groups bring more people in. but as far as i can tell, there is always swarms of players in that level range grinding out the events
Here is my purposed change to the xp dampening system in hopes to encourage better group play:

I keep seeing this, and I dont find that to be the case. Certainly getting a group around your lvl and speed killing mobs if faster, you can absolutely solo grind mobs. I did a lot of solo grinding on a ranger (easy cakes) and a tank (not quiet as easy but very doable) go out explore figure out how to do it/ what mobs or what areas work for you and it can be done np.
Why is it harder now for solo players? You don’t have the market forces/economics in play to gear up. Markets are group content that everyone can benefit from. So a solo player engaging in a market is getting the benefits of the group.
Right now group raids or grinding generated the most returns on time investment. I think that’s just the current state. You get better and more gear drops in groups. That’s just what it is now.
Also, every solo player better git gudr since you are playing on hard mode if the game has a difficulty setting.
MMOs are social games. They are not solo experiences.
modern problem with people in MMOs, stop comparing yourself to others and focus on yourself. You're your own worst enemy if you do this.
But its certainly is not a solo focused MMO
soloed last sunday from 1- 10, though for some contracts i did ask inv? when i got to a kill zone.
and of course grouped should be more efficient than solo.. this is a community game. you can solo but it wont be as fast.
