An entire servers PVP was disabled for ONE STREAMER

This games Dev team says they wont give special treatment to a streamer. Then they shut the PVP down for thousands of other players because ONE PERSON GOT GANKED HOW IS THIS FAIR TREATMENT ?!?

ONE PERSON I.E. A STREAMER TURNED OFF A GAME FEATURE FOR THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS BECAUSE HE GOT GANKED.. LET THAT SINK IN PEOPLE. DO YOU THINK THEY CARE ABOUT YOU ?

Can you explain what you are talking about for those of us not privy to the details? The only streamer issue I am aware of was with Asmongold and I am not aware of them shutting down pvp, just a couple callouts from the GM to stop griefing him? What system was shut down and for how long?

It seems you are attempting to trivialize this with the suggestion that one guy got ganked. There was stream sniping and announcements that asmongold was logging in prior to the login. People making characters with the name 'KOAsmon' for the purpose of griefing that were waiting at the log in/spawn in point that repeatedly attacked and killed him preventing him from ANY progression at all, this is not simple ganking, this is extreme griefing and kudos to Steven for banning. I would not have even given the 3 warnings Steven did.

You seem to be fundamentally misunderstanding what this Alpha testing phase is about. PvP is not the focus of this phase—it’s about server stability, progression systems, and archetype testing. If you didn’t know that, your ignorance is showing. The $120 you paid—or the $500 I paid—was to gain access to help test the game, not to treat it like a finished product or do whatever you want. Testing means following what the developers need feedback on, not indulging in random features they aren’t even focusing on yet.

As for the starting zone suppression area, I personally think Intrepid waiting to implement it was a bad idea, and I’m not alone in that opinion. Many players agree that it should have been brought in sooner to avoid unnecessary issues. That said, your claim that this is all about 'special treatment' is completely off the mark.

There’s a massive difference between meaningful PvP and griefing someone just to get on a stream with thousands of viewers or harass someone you don’t like. That kind of behavior doesn’t showcase the game—it tarnishes its reputation. If you don’t understand how harmful that could be for the game’s future, then you’re missing the bigger picture entirely.

Finally, your caps lock ranting and entitled attitude just come off as childish. This Alpha isn’t about catering to your whims. It’s about creating a stable, polished game that will be worth playing when it’s finished. If you can’t grasp that, maybe testing isn’t for you.

You paid to test an unfinished alpha game. For an online game where gms can do anything temporarily. And of course making a good impression to a big streamer is important since it attracts more customers. Customers thst are hopefully more calm than you are.

Your brain must not function, yes this a PvX game but what part of this is Phase 1 that doesn’t involve testing PvP mechanics/balancing or function in this phase of the test are you not understanding. Stop using it’s a PvX game as a way to try and justify being pissed off because “going to take a guess here” your someone who either was part of the group who was doing it and got banned or a friend of the party or your someone who wants to kill low level players to get your jolly off. People like this should not be testing because your not doing that your just playing to enjoy killing people in a system that’s not functioning properly yet.

It's a bad look to say it is okay for the PirateSoftware guy to put someone on a kill-on-sight list so the thousands of players in his 40 guilds will grief players for his grudge. But if a popular streamer is targeted it is bannable. It is too early to tell if these big streamers will have a net positive or negative impact on the game. The publicity is unquestionably good. However, you can imagine people having to pay big streamer guild fees to participate in the game mechanics so they are not griefed being a huge turnoff. It kind of breaks the end-game loop if one guild alliance is so large that it can't realistically be challenged. In those situations, the losing side becomes demoralized and eventually stops showing up and the game dies.

The game is not even released yet. They are still working on the systems that would deter the griefers that were stopped. We paid for the opportunity to help develop the game in good faith, not take advantage of underdeveloped systems.

Incorrect on all accounts. I simply enjoy PvP. NOT greifing i enjoy PVP one on one situations of even level. currently you cannot do this in any shape or form due to corruption. If not pointed out it will never changed and get worse. The PVE andies like yourself will ruin every game you get ur hands on in the name of social justice.

I agree and during the testing an entire server was stopped from testing PVP because of one guy. imagine if this happened to every average Joe. Imagine if everytime u got ganked the server shut off PVP. the game would die before it was even done testing.

. I’m all for open-world PvP—every post I’ve made has been in defense of it, especially when it comes to PvP for resources and territory. However, what you’re describing is not PvP in the way the developer has repeatedly emphasized. Steven has stated hundreds of times that Ashes of Creation is about fostering 'player conflict,' and it’s worth clarifying what that actually means.

Oh thats right it didnt shut down pvp for those people it just continued on normally see the how wrong that is ? one guy shuts down everything cause hes worth money. while average people who disagree with a streamer get wrecked with no recourse... can you not see the problem here ? And that's exactly why only a few people like open PVP.
Because in almost every game it's just used to annoy people.
I think a lot of the systems in the game will end up not working as intended and will require massive changes
Don't think it has a negative impact in the long run.
The whole game is not really good advertising as it currently stands.
But people will forget about it if it ends up being good.

Since you're just reiterating another person's opinion, you should probably know the reason they called KOS on that person and guild is because they were meta-gaming by mass reporting PirateSoftware in an attempt to get his account actioned. In my opinion they deserve to have their access stripped rather than just being put on a hit list.

You aren't owed any specific content, the only thing you're owed is access to the servers when they're available. This is an Alpha, people's characters are going to be wiped and anything that ultimately happens before release doesn't matter at all. Steven has been giving people free mounts and executing boss monsters in testing and they've been dropping items from what I've seen.

Not to mention the most recent weekend testing period was extended into the monday. So, if you really feel so oppressed by this clearly life-altering inhibition of your right to PvP - they more than made up for that small period of PvP being turned off by giving you a whole 24 extra hours to play.

If this happened after release, I would actually be on your side. But you just sound entitled.

Most people already get a bad impression of the game when they see the graphics, animations and interface.
They may not even know that it's an early alpha. I think an unfinished PVP system will be the least of their problems.

That's your personal opinion if you think all of that is bad, I personally I think it's in a good place. Being camped right out of the gate is objectively bad, and there isn't really an argument for it. So yes, it will be a huge concern for a lot of people that aren't as interested in PvP and will set a bad impression for more PvE orientated players.
