Never-done-before guild system for the future?
Crotchless
Member, Alpha Two
let me start by saying that i understand guild sizes are smaller than intended currently. what i personally think could be a very unique, great addition in the future is sub-guild placements in your main guild. ill explain why later, but first this is how i imagine it looking.
Within your guild you have the option to place members within sub-sections. Sub-sections would be something like:
PVP, PVE, Life Skill ( maybe a general player subsection. names of course subject to change to fit the games immersion)
The guild leader can set the player limit of each section as desired, examples are:
100 max PVP
100 max PVE
100 max LifeSkill
or if your a heavy lifeskill guild:
200 max LifeSkill
80 max PVE
20 Max PVP
you get it(Hopefully)
These numbers, again, can be set to whatever range best suits the guild setting them. could be all 300 into one sub-section
These players would then share a universal symbol, next to their name, across the server with other guilds to define which playstyle they belong to. Note this doesnt mean they have to play just that style, that would be silly. However, by belonging to a sub-section you would be provided with guild buffs to boost that area of play. For example:
-LikeSkill Subsection could get stuff like reduced gathering and crafting time/costs. a small xp gain from performing lifeskilling acts. Reduced pvp damage taken and delt
-PVPers could get stuff like reduced xp loss from players / reduced durability loss / increase to combat stats when fighting other flagged players. etc..
1) just a more in-depth system with a few perks for everyone to feel special. you know, snowflakes and all
2) one pvp orientated player in a guild can kill someone and give the whole guild a bad rep. this can lead to players seeing another player (whos guild has a bad rep) and killing them as theyre blanketed as also bad. In many cases though, they could be a very friendly harmless gatherer.
3) having the symbol next to your guild, showing your a lifeskiller, would help resolve this issue as retaliating guilds may be more focused on searching for the guilds PVP Players. giving the casual PVE-style players a little bit of a break and feeling less pressure from the open world pvp they dont enjoy.
4) if guilds get to choose how many players they want as say PVPers, then when the time comes to call players to fight in pvp, a life skiller wouldnt feel the pressure to do content with their guild they dont enjoy, as theyre not suited for it due to the perks, and wouldnt be expected to fight from the guild because of it.
everyone could hate this idea. There are for sure issues that could come from this, like what if a lifeskiller starts attacking other players. does the attacked guild now focus on their lifeskillers? does a guild just focus on killing other guilds life skillers to halt their progress?(figured the pvp reduced damage perk among others they come up with would make this not an issue however) but figured it would be worth tossing it out there and seeing if this is an addition people would enjoy? for the record i am a pvp player, just looking for ways to help PVPers and PVEers exist together without the dev team feeling pressure to cater to the PVEers demands
Lets here your thoughts
