We need streamer free servers

Many people don’t want to play on servers with streamers. The whole Asmongold incident is a great example of why. I think there should be some servers that ban streamers so that players who don’t like the negatives that streamers can bring to the game don’t have to deal with them. I think this is the best way to make everyone happy.

I personally very much dislike the idea of people having high influence in the game who - other than everyone else in the game - will make money depending on how "entertaining" their ingame decisions are to a third party audience who has basically no input costs for influencing the game/the server (kinda sounds like a RMT when donation money to players of a guild decide what these guilds do ingame)

Therefore I would also really like to have a server where everyone just pays their subscription fee and plays the game because they enjoy gaming and not because they can sell something from the game to others.
I am however how many people actually share this sentiment. I would hope it would be enough for one "private" server and that Intrepid has enough understanding for this "oldschool" sentiment and capacities on the technical side to enable such a thing.

I dont think they can really stop people from moving servers og starting somewhere, npr should they. But I get your pointe.

they should just add a tag on a server after the 20th dec for phase 2 lable streamer server and try and push the streamer onto the one serverto play with eachother

they dont have too but tbh i kinda wanna see the stream battle royal over one server

If they make it clear that anyone who streams on the servers that don’t allow streamers on the them will have their character deleted or moved off the server. I’m sure streamers will behave and play on the servers that are for streamers.

For clarity, does this also apply to Content Creators that take video and then edit it later?

Like, is it just 'getting popularity by creating content and getting an audience through that content' that's an issue?

This is a serious question for me because it would also apply to really good RP-ers and certain big guilds, even if they don't actually stream and sometimes even if they don't create video content.

If by some miracle a person was able to recruit an Army in Ashes purely by 'writing good Node Lore', is that ok? Is it ok if they 'didn't start out with an audience already'? And if having an audience already is a problem, how big is the audience allowed to be?

If the issue is with just streaming specifically, you can just ignore the followup questions.

Streamers are fine, they are a net benefit to Ashes. There’s just going to be a persistent risk for those streamers to be pestered.

I’d rather the community work this out instead of the devs regulating it.

Just do a little research before selecting a server. Most of the content creators openly tell everyone which servers they plan to play on. They also are more likely to join the same servers as other creators because its free drama and content all around.

Just label a number of servers recommended for steamers...Its not mandatory but it'll at least draw enough attention to them.

Just like labeling a server for RP...

Streamer Clout chasing will take care of the rest. Nobody who streams wants to miss out on being part of the new drama

At some point the population will know who streams and who doesn't.

Point is, it's worth browsing through, and should probably have been discussed there, or at least referenced here.

Stream sniping will be an issue mainly for the streamers and not so much for the rest of the community, as the nature of the game is in such a way that the game is heavily open world non-consensual PvP focused.

Eve Online is the best example for that. You won't see much streamers for that game, and even if you do, they put at least a 30 minutes broadcast delay to avoid stream sniping (if it is worth stream sniping them).

Trust me when I say this, Ashes of Creation is just another Eve Online, except AoC is medieval fantasy themed and EO is space fantasy themed. The game base will be extremely niche, only PvP tolerating gamers will play it, the game needs serious commitment, not solo friendly, and so on.

Creating a streamer free server is a futile attempt to avoid streamer harassment. Instead, let the community figure out a way on its own to solve this.

You cant tough thats the thing just look at the server they took on US everything is controlled by streamers or guilds streamers are in.

I dont want to be a part of a realm that is managed for views.

thats what ill do i reckon it work well for marketing too and easier to police people greifing streamers too since there all in one space

Personally, I find steamers to be a plague in gaming and I avoid their servers at all costs. So I'll definitely be doing my due diligence before choosing a server once the game releases in 2077. The idea of a "steamer tag" is cool and all, but it won't happen. Especially since the devs are nearly in bed with them already. I'd suggest just doing the same - due diligence prior to character creation.
