Only streamer on Lyneth that currently has a town is Narc. Overlord has Miraleth, Narc has Winstead, Dynasty has Joeva, Heroes has Halcyon, and a guy who got in with 2 votes during the DDOS attack has New Aela. But they all have indeed been working towards a plan for which buildings to create.
Yeah man, I know what u mean... I was going to play on that server too, but now i'm not so sure. Like you said, I want to feel immersed in the game and not just a "prop" for a content creator to make money off of. Kinda kills some of the natural fun and exploration of just playing the game.
The worst is when these people use their "influence from outside the game" as a power multiplier in the game, then complain about stream sniping...
Cost of doing business imo.
More utter nonsense
+1. This is not the type of game that would be a huge watch on twitch by streamers.
Good point.
I'm on Lyneth and it seems every third player is in Actual Piates.
I want to join a guild but I'm not a lemming.
I didn't know how big Narc's community is but him and Thor both ended up in the same server.
At retail with the full map open it'll be easier to get away from them.
You think so?
My experience would be that it'd be harder, once they got big/strong enough. They have more reason to spread out and monopolize stuff in smaller groups.
Streamer density is constant.
Make a guild and advertise it as a non-streamer guild.
I don't foresee a problem finding a guild, and I didn't mean to imply that.
Make ovne?
Way too much effort for me. What a drag that would be.
I shouldn't have quoted you but make a standalone statement about trying to oppose streamer guilds and see if that is successful. If is not, then people who oppose are in minority.
When T&L had the advanced access I've seen a streamer complaining how bad it was because it was segregating his community into players who would start 2 weeks earlier and others being left behind. He said he will start early because he was a streamer but then move to the other late servers to try to bring the community together.
The world has changed and streamers are in control.
Steven is a streamer too and influenced us to buy this alpha.
Make servers with a RANGE of guild member caps. 200, 400, 800, just scale all the numbers of x1, x2, x4, the initial size, each expansion increment purchase and the max size with all expansions all multiplied by a single factor. This will immediatly allow EVERYONE to go to the server that matches the gameplay they are looking for. No time consuming enforcements or bans on streaming required.
Big Zerg streams will go where the guild size is largest, thouse groups have been begging for bigger guild cap for years already, yes they may still need to run 10 guilds of 800 each to accomadate their absurd numbers, but that's gonna be like heaven compared to running 40 of them, they will never consider moving to a small guild cap server simply because of the headaches that would cause.
Your small to mid steamers and large legacy guilds will go mid cap servers to swim with similar size fish. If they get big enough they might migrate up, or if they shrink migrate down.
And your casual players and roleplayers who like small very tight groups where everyone knows everyone will go for the smallest 200 max guild size servers, such groups have been saying that the current 300 was too big and would jump at something like this.
And you still have the guild level and perk system that Steven has laid out as a means to balance small vs large, but now it only needs to balance a much narrower range of sizes, say around a 5x size difference rather then a x10 times size difference which, lets be realist simply is not possible.
