Blocking
Mahes
I am currently testing out the Ranger and got him up to 12th. I went to Highhold where I grouped up and enjoyed the XP/item farming in that region.
Something bothered me. If this is a bug and not intentional, then please disregard. There were humanoid types that would throw up this ability where all damage incoming would be ....blocked. The damage would be severely mitigated while this buff occurred. Now I do know that this Buff would sometimes bug and remain for an extended period of time, which really was irritating.
My question is, how does a bipedal humanoid block from behind while engaged in front??? Blocking has always been a positional defense. It works great from the front but does nothing from behind. That is what Armor or magic is for. If it is magic, it would most likely just be a shielding and not a "blocking" magic?
Again if this is a bug, then ignore me. If this is not, then the current system for "Block" is inaccurate and needs changing.

The Ranger that could not get through any blocking, regardless of position.

Might be a spell ability, rather than strictly blocking with a shield. Every time I've seen a mob blocking with a shield (skeletons being a big one) you could bypass it by getting behind them.

Last time I was in the area, Highwayman Hills had Defender-type mobs that would bug out in an infinite blocking state, from any angle. I'm guessing you probably saw something similar. Did you /bug it?

Are you referring to the passive block ability where everyone has a percentage chance to block an attack, regardless of position? Think that’s a feature and not a bug. Perhaps the RNG was bugged to give them higher odds to block.

Yeah it was Highwayman hills. I do not think it was only the Defenders. They were the obvious ones. I figured the infinite part was a bug but either way position should not matter. I figured the position was design and did consider that also to be a bug since it would wear off.

block in this game is 360 degrees, and that ability of theirs is a pain!!
