All node leadership is the same - propose economic node actually is different

nerdhuntnerdhunt Member, Alpha Two
All nodes are currently the same, yeah you get to acquire control through different means, but essentially all the nodes are the same system, elected mayor.

I propose for the economy district, there is no elected leader and the node makes decisions based on popular vote, a democratic rule or a republic, and this vote could begin to be voted and enacted before leadership nodes get elected mayor, so the votes would be tallied as other nodes get elected leaders, this way there will be a node that will always get good decisions made no mater who is in control, and also it will allow one node to flourish before others as it will be able to make decisions before other nodes as they don't need elected leaders, truly being the economy center instead of just holding the name.

    Node election types.[18][19]

Mayors are chosen through different methods according to the node's type.[20][21]

Divine node mayors are elected based on the citizen who earns the most PvE favor with the node.[18][19][22][20]
Most of the devotion-oriented tasks are going to be on an individual basis and won't utilize outside support.[23]
Economic node mayors are elected via a blind-bid auction where the citizen bidding the most money wins.[18][19][22][20] This is a gold sink.[24]
The developers are in favor of a public accounting of campaign funds and contributions for mayoral candidates.[25]
Military node mayors are elected based on trial by combat. During the election week the node will enter an open-PvP battleground state for hour-long periods where candidates (and their citizen supporters) compete to gain points by securing objectives. The highest point winner at the end of the week will win.[18][19]
Previously the developers were considering champions that fought in a last-man-standing arena.[26][22][27][28][29]
Academic node mayors are elected via ranked choice popular vote.[18][19]
This was previously a single popular vote system.[22][20] Records of who voted for who are not published.[14]
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

You missed the point of it still being a mayor, it's like telling me that there are three different modes of transportation here, and one is a motorcycle, one is a trike, and one is a car.

They all still turn on the same wheel concept, introduce me an airplane or a helicopter, is what I am asking for.

Economy center should be democratic if it is to make any sense, and it should also be the capital with the best inherent trade routes.

Economic is by who has the biggest wallet. Not a popularity contest.

Good, it means if your guild pisses off everyone else on the node by griefing them all the time you get voted out, you need the people to vote for you and therefore you need to have a GOOD REPUTATION instead of a trash one, this is actually a good thing.

The bad part will be when Streamers show up with their subordinates and they have 300 votes it becomes hard to compete with that. My understanding is 10,000 people on a server, 83 nodes, this means the average per node would be 120.5 making it next to impossible to eject a 300 man guild from a zone unless that zone is extremely popular.

I actually like the general concept of a node type without a leader, but where all decisions are voted on by citizens.

However, this doesn't make sense for an economic node. Econimic nodes should be run by people with money. This makes sense for a scientific node.
