Easy anti cheat 30005 startservice failed with 1275

Getting this error after hitting the Launch Game button in the launcher. Tried different things suggested by other searches online, and not willing to turn off the Windows kernel protection on my PC. Windows fully updated with latest patches for Win 11 23H2. For what I gather, this may be Easy Anti Cheat driver not being up to date / compatible with the latest Windows version.

Hey dash71, I’ve been having this issue for weeks and did some extensive research to try to figure out the problem. I have submitted long paragraphs in the bug discord channel and made a support ticket as well. Funny enough the response to my support ticket was a non answer with the only further thing I can do is post here. These are the findings I sent in to support

“Since I know I'm not the only one getting EAC error 30005, 1275 that DOESN'T want to disable hardware-enforced stack protection (a windows security feature) in order to run the game, I did some digging and troubleshooting to try to figure out the cause. I'm unsure if this is the right place (I've already posted in the discord), but I have discovered that the issue is that the EAC EasyAntiCheat_EOS and EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys files/drivers used by intrepid are older/different than the current ones created by games where the error does not occur. Intrepid's file versions are 1.3.2.0 for EasyAntiCheat_EOS and 1.0.0.0 EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys (both generated in C:ProgramFIlesX86). According to windows, when disabling and reenabling hardware stack protection, EasyAntiCheat_EOS.sys is the problem file for Hardware-enforced Stack protection. If the version generated from installing/launching AOC is on the computer Core Isolation settings cannot be reenabled. I then looked into the EAC files of a few other games (for example Throne and Liberty) that work perfectly without conflicting with Windows Core Isolation settings. The file versions for these games are 1.3.5.0 for EasyAntiCheat_EOS and a version 3.0.0.0 EastAntiCheat_EOS.sys. Doing some armchair research (understanding I'm not a professional and should leave it to those that are) it looks like some older versions of EAC drivers were put on Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist due to causing blue screens with certain hardware setups that had core isolation Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection enabled. I apologize for the huge novel, but I hope my troubleshooting and research can help solve this issue so that the many of us blocked by error 30005 1275 can play the game soon without disabling a windows security feature. Have a great day!”

Hopefully by placing this here with your post we can get this issue more visibility. I have tried reinstalling, disabling anti-virus, making sure things are up to date the whole nine yards. The game works flawlessly with hardware stack protection off as well.

This error is quite different than the 30005, 1275 error and seems to have a fix. If you go into the area where you have the game saved go into the PROD folder and find the Easy Anti Cheat folder there should be an Install.bat or install batch file. If you run this file it should solve the issue you are having. The 1275 error is because apparently this version of EAC is incompatible with hardware stack protection on certain machines. Hope this helps!

I'm also having the issue with the older driver. I also opened a ticket and received a generic answer and then advice to post here on the forum. A little more info in case it is helpful.

On the initial Alpha 2 weekend I turned off stack protection and then decided that I didn't want to take the risk. When I tried to re-enable it, I couldn't. I tried uninstalling the game etc., etc. and ended up having to manually delete some files and folders for EAC. Finally, I was able to re-enable hardware stack protection. When I reinstalled the game, I was then able to play without disabling stack protection!

Alas, the second weekend's update reinstalled everything and I was back to square one. How do we get an updated EAC driver so that we can play the game safely and reliable like the many other games that work with EAC?
