Profession progress is far too slow for alpha test periods

We hit lvl25 in one weekend, however to actually test any of the crafting you need to spend an insane amount of time and effort for it to just wipe in december.

crafting/node progression was basicy ignore on my server for this phase since it was just easier to get mob dropped gear than to craft so nodes got completly neglected since everything was aquired by mobs basicly
that being said when i level leather working i found it being too quick tbh i farmed 50 carcasses which took like 2 hours and ended up only needing like 20-25 carcasses to hit 10 leatherworking this was like week end 2, however with carpentry which i did this weekend it was horrendous due to resource availability (which is an issue for metal since it seems each biome will get 1 rare mat and riverland seems to be ore) but definitely felt slower than it should for lvl 1-10 i basicly had 3 nodes processing benches perma going with 250 wood processing for 4.5 hours and took like 3 rounds of that to go from 6-10 carpentry so like 2250 wood at 5 resources a node so 450 tree to hit 10 carpentry. but my lumberjack is like 22 or something and lumbermilling is 19 i think off top of my head and seems off compared to the skill gain in carpentry. was using a carpentry shirt aswell which made me get 7% more XP aswell for 30% of the grind when i remembered about it
it says in the chat box when crafting it was 100 xp for base craft and 107 when i did it with shirt on. shirt xp bonus was like 23 or something which resulted in 7% increase weird value lol (also if it was scribing u were doing the shirt doesnt give XP bonus for that one along with some processing ones atleast for novice level)
Also consumable dont seem to working at all atleast this weekend everyone one i tried didnt change a single thing. Atleast on alt i was playing around with physical dmg food/str scroll did nothing to a lvl 2 fighter and the XP gain were the same with a combat Xp off identical lvl 2 goblin mobs which was 127xp or something and 1% increase should of made it atleast 128xp which it didnt.
If anything it could be slower. I am level 10-15 on most skills and the nodes don't even have benches for apprentice on my server.
I have way out progressed the nodes and we have 5 weeks left to test. I am going to be capped on everything in 2-3 weeks at the pace I am going.
I really really really do not want them to buff progress in crafting. Crafting has become my main addiction and I don't want to run out of content.
This is my personal feedback, shared to help the game thrive in its niche.
Ha! Maybe you did lol. This was my first go, and I've only made it to level 10. I'll certainly be able to do it faster next time though. I did get caught up in the professions more than the levelling on my first go. Apprentice Hunting and Mining. I'm also 7 or 8 I think on Logging, Fishing, and Herbalism.
I do agree that for testing purposes, it's overly difficult at the moment. It could be it's just not REALLY the current focus and they haven't worried much about it.
Here's my take on gathering so far. I don't have the funds to go through processing or even remotely for crafting.
Mining: This is my go to in every game. Issues with Copper and Zinc aside, I think this is in a good place. IF they resolve the T2 resources blocking all of the T1 resources, I think this is fine the way it is.
Hunting: This was my surprise find. I absolutely LOVE this mechanic. I can't really even say why, but it capture my attention and was my first apprentice skill. At the same time, at a mere level 10, I am too broke to afford to breed any of my captured mounts. The spawns got utterly obliterated this weekend though. I don't even have a plan for how you could possibly level this at the current rates. This current change hurts so much because it's a double nerf. Not only are the total number of spawns reduced, but the respawn timers were increased drastically as well. If these are truly the intended rates and not something changed unintentionally, I would suggest that some sort of tracking be added to the profession. If the spawns are going to be this rare, give us a better way to find them. Edit: And we can't make apprentice bow yet on our server. I think interest has fizzled beyond everyone getting 1 mount that's 5% faster.
Fishing: Aside from being able to fish AFK, this feels like it's in a decent place. It does feel a little slow, but that could be offset against the fact that you don't even have to be there.
Logging: I know this will change as we level up the skill and get better gear, but it feels slow, not the pace of levelling but the actual act (animation) of logging. As plentiful as trees are, and the fact that they are the primary fuel source, perhaps that's the balance factor again.
Herbalism: So, I thought this was painful, then I went to New Aela and just saw massive fields of herbs. That did change my perspective on this and I now think this is in a good place too. Flax might be overly rare (but not to the extent of copper/zinc) but it could also be I haven't found the right spot for it yet. Here again, though, the animation does seemingly take a long time for cutting some flowers.
Final thought on gathering. If we actually had reasonable access to copper, and could more easily make upgraded tools, I think these would all feel much better.
Processing and Crafting are a different story, but I don't think Gathering is too far off.
