[Bug Hunting] Node Storage Vanishing items, Duplications, And Crashes

Hey all,

We're looking for videos of a few Node Storage related bugs.

If you can capture the following on video and post a link here in this thread, we would appreciate it!

If items in your node inventory, or your entire node storage disappears
If you're able to duplicate items in your node storage
If your node storage is causing your game client to crash

In addition, you can also send your logs directly to us this way

For added clarity, please note:

Item Storage - ex. Gear, Rations
Material Storage - ex. Granite, Wood, snowdrop
Cargo Storage - ex. Commodities from Vendor, or Crates

I have had this since 11/15/24. It has not gone away. No clue what caused it but it started after server maintance on 11/15/24. Even if you log out and log back in, this issue persist. It does to only affect material storage since you have to buy a new slot.

I just got the second storage from becoming a node citizen. It has been deleting anything I put in it when I relog. Here is the screen capture.

I joined the playtest on 11/15/24 and have experienced the behavior outlined in Lockets' video consistently since creating my character. I cannot use material storage in any node it seems.

I lost 4 entire tabs of rare materials and equipment because of this bug. I'm the main crafter in my guild, about 8-10 hours of farming were lost to this bug.

I also noticed that when I removed my citizenship from the city, the additional tabs also disappeared and deleted all the items. This shouldn't happen.

I click through my storages to allow time for the item to be saved server-side.
Quickly taking out the items and changing the category would duplicate all items that were in that Material Storage.

No video, but for me the Storage crash always happens when I attempt to open Storage a second time.
I can open it, do some farming for 2 hours, come back and as soon as I open it - crash. Don't even see it open.
Similarly, I can open it and close it, forget I meant to pull something out and try to re-open it directly in to a crash.

Be aware, most of the time when talking to him first, or after quite some time it's fine, but if you open it twice in a row, there is a100% chance of the game crashing.

Can access storage and have not had an issue with crashing, however anything i store instantly disappears and relogging does not fix it.

Material items disappeared on newly purchased storage. Steps:

1. Bought new storage slot with 1 gold in New Aela node
2. Moved units to that new space, mainly ash and oak wood
3. Closed the storage window
4. Came back to storage and newly purchased storage space was locked again
5. Repurchased the storage slot with 1 gold
6. It was empty
7. Tried to relog
8. It was locked again

I lost the content of the storage after the maintenance from the 15th november.

Before storing my items, I went to the mining vendor from a factory in a node. The storage window appeared (which I think is a bug) and I was able to explore the different storages from it. It happened I selected the "mining" type storage to define the storage in this node.

When I then went to the Storage clerk, I was able to put ressources there, even if it was a lot unstable ; issues to load content, to see my storages content from other nodes. I guess I relogged few times to finally see everything I needed.

Then the maintenance happened and everything disappeared from this node.

I have multiple assumptions :
- When loading storages contents and selecting one or another, there is some lag, searching time, so maybe datas are lost at that time ;
- Accessing and interacting with the storage from the Mining vendor (it happens with the other npcs from nodes crafting buildings (stoneworks for example)) could cause issues with the storages datas which corrupt them ;
- As sometimes these days we don't receive ressources from a ressource node and we have to relog to fix this, maybe there is something similar with the storages. It would be something like : our character lost its connection with the database/server when we put the ressources in the storage, and so the server doesn't register those datas but from our side, it is considered as so. And when we relog, everything is lost because datas are different or inexistant ;
- The loss was due to the instability of the server and so datas were lost in the void because of this.

Another thing I just tested:
When interacting with the Storage clerk, if you select other cities storages then select your from the city you're in, you can't use it. It is impossible to put or withdraw items from it. You have to close the window and talk to the clerk again and selecting FIRSTLY and ONLY the storage from the current city to be able to put or withdraw items.
Maybe there is a link.

I do not have a video (yet) but have encountered missing stuff twice, once in item and material, and once in material. I did want to add that I seem to be able to avoid this problem by testing the storage first. What I mean is that when there is an issue with storage, you won't be able to move anything currently in storage to another slot within the same storage, even swapping between two items of the same size. Basically storage is completely unresponsive. When this happens, I don't bother storing or withdrawing until it "recovers". I have not attempted to dupe items by withdrawing to see if it would move to inventory but leave it in storage (once storage recovers). I'll test this.

I have the same problem as snowii and TinyPenquin posted a few posts earlier.
My game crashes every second time I try to open any npc that opens up storage UI (storage clerk, commodity vendor, caravan master). This only happens in my home node where I have a lot of unwanted added material storage tabs (showcasing how many I have in the clip). It is possible to not crash when opening storage for the second time, but only if I wait 3+ minutes beforehand. Been having this problem since the first weekend, but it wasn't this bad when it first started, since I believe it is because I had less storage tabs then.

just came across a nasty duplication bug, using storage to deposit items, relogging, then taking out items from storage, swapping the box icon from the storage with a pickaxe or axe after you take out an item and relogging will make it revert back to having items on the storage + items on your own inventory, this can be used on any mat in the game @Vaknar this is critical

This is a report about issued with the Material Storage when talking to the Storage Clerk in a Node.

To describe the start situation:
I first was a citizen in Winstead.
At the beginning I used my second storage container as is, without choosing a type.
Later I cleared it and changed it to a Mining container and stored some items in it.
Then I renounced my citizenship (due to high taxes), not knowing I would loose access to that second storage container.
(I had 80+ Copper in there, just so you know!)
This was last weekend's test.

This weekend I continued with my plan and became a citizen of Halcyon.
At Halcyon's Storage clerk, before using it, I changed the second storage container to type "General storage" and put items in there.
After closing the window and talking to the Storage clerk again the items were lost, the second storage container showing as a "Buy" option with no price.
After relog the second storage container would reset to its original state, having no type chosen, and no items in it.
I used it like that since then without further issue.

Now the recording begins.

First you see I clear the storage.
Then I set the type to "General storage".
I put some items in it.
Closing the window and talking to the clerk again gave me the usual issue.
Items were gone.
"Buying" back the container (I didn't loose money) gave me access again, but its empty.
I change it to "Mining storage" and put copper in it (as if I haven't lost enough of that!).
After closing window and talking to the clerk again, storage breaks the same way again.
Switching to "Mining storage" in an attempt to find my Copper, no such luck.

Now I put items in there when the storage has no type.
This has worked fine until now. This time it doesn't.

I relog.
I fly.
Now it gets interesting, as the items I cleared out at the beginning of the recording have reappeared.
(Hey there, green copper!)
You can see I have some green and blue wood in the storage container, and in the inventory.
These items were duplicated.
I manage to stack them after a few tries, doubling my wood. (Would rather double my Copper, to be honest.)
Some legendary flowers were also duplicated, bringing me from 3 to 6.

I relog again to check if the stack size persists.
It does.

Do I know what the heck even happened here?
No.
All I know is you owe me 80 Coppers

Got a crash when trying to take out glint into an invalid inventory. Sadly, I was not able to reproduce this bug again.

The game froze for about two minutes; I could still hear sound and move my mouse, but wasn't able to move or interact in any way.

Hello, Since Friday eve 11/16 I have had a bug where when opening the discussion with the New Alea Caravan Master - which accesses the storage mini menu upon pressing "E" - my game crashes with a connection to realm timeout error. I have attached a video of the issue where it shows the mini menus pop up for a second then the timeout error. It is zipped. Request #69731 opened with logs and same vid file.

Here's a fairly minimal reproduction on my device, haven't tested super extensively, but this was my first attempt to reproduce for this bug hunt:

(also, when the ground doesn't load in and you fall through the map like it does the first time, that can repeatedly deal fall damage, which can kill you as it has done on a previous time testing this)

steps to reproduce:
Open node storage, material tab
(remove any stored items if there are any)
change the material type
put items in storage
close node storage, do whatever other activities
relog

result:
Every action performed in node storage is reversed (material type changes back to original, stored items disappear, and if the material tab contained items when first logging in, they are also back)
