Not that our server (Resna) has a way to craft anything Apprentice; but does anyone find the resource requirements for arcane eng out of whack? 20 copper per book?

it's not just that; it's the resource requirements for copper. I am kind of an OCD Miner so do pretty well; better than anyone else in my guild but leveling up the craft - "The juice just ain't worth the squeeze". Maybe if crafting Pylons to level up worked, but that craft currently gives zero XP. I hope something is done before phase 2 as I would like to "test" it. For now, I think I will be switching to Jewelry.
Reducing overall requirement amounts and switching different crafts with different resources would easily help a lot.
Also, bear in mind that Phase 2 will bring tempering, amongst other skills, which will allow the deconstruction of whole items into crafting reagents. Don't be led astray by the barebone systems of Phase 1 artisan

You're getting XP for Pylons? If so I need to report a bug on my end as I have not gotten XP for one in the last 2 weeks.
Yeah its pretty odd that crafting a book requires copper at all. I would have guessed it should use plant fibers for parchment instead. Copper is required by too many professions in too large quantities.
