Current Corruption System way too punishing

EduneEdune Member, Alpha Two
Last night I had a party vs party mutual pvp experience where everyone was flagged up. We were having fun until some non-flagged players got into the mix, and of course I accidentally killed someone's horse with an auto-attack and went red. Died, dropped 3 good items. This punishment is insane. I don't even recall killing anyone else who wasn't flagged, but evidently I had enough "bad credit" to be corrupt. When I flag I need a way to avoid damaging people who aren't flagged vs those who are, otherwise griefers will simply exploit the system and cause people to 'go red.' Additionally, dropping up to 3 items instantly when you go red for killing someone's mount is ridiculous. Way too punishing. Why even have a system like this, where you try to flag up to have some mutual pvp fun and griefers can exploit it in a way that is clearly not intended or fun? But mainly, the consequences are much too hash as they stand. I can kill a couple of mounts, and go red and lose 3 pieces of gear. That's absurd.

I can see and understand your frustration.

That said, it's not punishing enough at low levels. Just this evening there was a level 10 running around the starting area picking off anyone that just lost their pvp protection buff. Killed me without an issue (level 7). He went full red and I did not release and just watched. After looting me, he ran around full red for a minute, then it cleared and he went white. No punishment at all. Guards didn't care... and off to his next victim.

That wasn't pvp, that was just straight up griefing low level players in the starting area.

You might want to report a bug for that because if you didn’t do anything to warrant combat then he should have become corrupt upon killing you. That is you experience the corruption system needs to be heavily looked at because just like the guy in the main thread I also received a level three corruption upon fighting back to protect my caravan. I did everything I could to get the corruption to go away and it did not and I never received any sort of meter or timer letting me know when the corruption would end I killed monsters for a hour. This needs to be fixed or pvp In this game is pointless. I killed other flagged players who were attacking my caravan and became corrupt. Lost three gear pieces because I had to die three times to get the corruption removed.

The corruption system doesn't keep a whole guild on Vyra from running around perma-red.
