So, i just lost over 2 hours of farming and a bunch of heroic materials because someone decided it was a good idea to summon 4 to 5 lvl 50 3 star elites on top of the city, with no warning, no indication that it would happen. I was empting my storage and lost nearly everything to a loot goblin.

I don't mind dying and losing my stuff, and i don't want anything back, i know there will be a wipe, but if i die and lose my things, i want it to be my own fault, for getting greedy or underestimating a situation, even trains can be avoided, something that has conterplay. Not by the whim of someone throwing mobs nobody can kill or avoid.

The other events left me with a full bar of xp debit and i had a blast being wiped by a dragon and sending feedback. It was something planed that i had a choice to participate.

All this event did was leave me with a whole lot of frustration for being shoved in something i wanted no part with in a place that was supposed to be safe with no warning at all. It was my first really bad experience in AoC

And so i should give feedback, since i am here to test. Or you expect the game to be good on launch if all we do is lick boots and say everything that its done is spetacular? Bad feedback is as important as bug reports

No, I expectus to test the things that need to be tested, give feedback on the things that need feedback, and not complain about various realities of a testing environment, such as random mobs being spawned.

Your feedback here literally amounts to "I don't like that this alpha test is taking place in a test environment".

That sucks. This makes me think about Freehold owners when a node war is declared.

Oh, enlighten me what the staff want to have as feedback, since you know what they want better than anyone else.

I would like to think if a GM do a event, he will want to know what players think about the experience they had, it is a event after all.

If you think summoning unkilable mobs on a node because the cookhouse is going to be built soon is just something that happens on a alpha enviroment and needs no feedback at all, you have all the right no not do it. I myself think it's valid to share my experience, i am pretty sure Steven will not have his feeling hurt because someone did not like the experience. It was a choice made by a thinking being for reasons of their own to interact with players, you don't need to run defense for intrepid this hard, i know for a fact they heard way worse things from other people on this weekend alone, then can handle it. If its relevant, they will take note, if is not, they will not.

If your opinion is it's an alpha and theres no need to give feedbacks about my experience, go for it, you don't need to waste your time on a random guy's post.

Yeah that doesn't sound a cool event, just a grief of the players and in bad taste

We know it was not a train because theres no lvl 50 3 star mobs around. The mobs are cool, but took everyone off guard

Oh there wasn't any doubt at all a GM spawned them there, just that it sure wasn't a 'cool event' by any metric. Bad move to troll the playerbase so dramatically.

I think if you stick around long enough - the devs usually end up giving rewards for your trouble at the end of the event.

    Shame I missed this.

Love these kinds of GM events.

This is not the response to every situation that happens. Now this guy cant test crafting with those materials. Now that guy has less incentive to actually go test other things.

Losing progress on this scale when you are not doing anything wrong regardless of if this is a test or not feels awful. You screeching "test bro why u mad?" does nothing but make players like the OP less likely to stick around to test.

I will again throw my 2 cents in and say that Node Cities should be completely safe zones. Makes no sense that you have to keep on your toes or log off just to take a few minutes afk.

@OP Yes this sucks, but unfortunately they seem dead set on throwing random events at players during testing. I lost an entire material storage tab of hours farmed carcass and droppings yesterday due to a bug. So i kind of understand. The best we can do is either take a break and hope that things are resolved in a week or more, or just keep pushing and let these sorts of things slide.

Hope you calm down and decide to keep playing though, peace.

Edit: another complication is that this is most likely what a monster token event will look like, and that will truly make you vulnerable in towns. so its probably best to just log out when you afk or find a nice secluded location if you need to risk it.

"Oh, there wasn't any doubt that a GM spawned them there." Wow really?.... It's tough when you invest time in a thing, and it gets wiped away in a flash—that sucks. If it were a GM deal, sending a generalized message to crushed folks would have been excellent after the event, regardless of whether we all know it was Alpha time. While you are looking for bugs, accomplishment still matters.

    Right now, it is.

Your notion that the OP can't test crafting with those materials has two major points i would make.

The first is that there is no real need to test the crafting system right now.

The second is that if you want to use rhe argument that they can't test the crafting system, the same argument also says that they successfully tested the item drop on death system - so a successful test was conducted.

The only complaint I see is in relation to progression - but this is a test environment, not a play environment.

I would also offer this feedback in an area like bugs and issues or alpha 2 feedback to make sure it is seen.

I stuck around, farming for more hours to resume my testing and send the bug reports i was planning.

Okay big boy, let me tell you all the details of what i was testing, and you, as the all knowing player, can decide if what i was doing was more important than the "drop on death test" you mentioned.

I did one caravan earlier, Halcyon to winstead. It was my first caravan, and it worked fine. So i decided to go to Miraleth to pick my entire warehouse, put on crates and transport to Windstead via the caravan. I went there, farmed glint for one trade good lvl 2 and bought one medium crate. I filled the medium crate, and noticed that i could not flip it to put on the caravan. No big deal, i hit unseal and waited 5 minutes to get the materials back. It failed. I tries 4 more times to no avail. 20 minutes and a full medium crate of materials gone. I bug reported it and bought two small crates to transport the remaining contets from the warehouse. I put the two materials crates and one goods crate on the caravan and added one beast of burden to make the snail pace a tiny bit faster. After riding, slowly, to wintead, i reached the node, the event was concluded, the caravan was dismounted and i went to the warehouse to pick my materials and sell the trade goods. This is when i found the second bug, everything i transported bvvia the caravar vanished, lost to the void. Bummer but its good to find bugs like this earlier, so i did a detailed bug report and decided to run another caravan to get more evidence. So far i lost one full warehouse and glint for a lvl 2 trade good. I farmed enough to pick another good and a small crate to resume testing, and went to the warehouse. I emptied the warehouse of all my materials and 5 blue glint i farmed. This was when i was mauled by a lvl 50 mob with no heads up, lost 40% of my entire warehouse, including 3 blue glint. thats 300 dull glint farmed killing mobs that drop 2 to 5 on a 20% chance.

I was more annoyed because i could not test a pretty massive bug more. At this time i lost two full warehouses and a lot of glint. After giving my feedback, that was judged completely irrelevant by some higher beings, i came back to farm and conclude my testing. Ran another caracvan from winstead to halcyon, to the same result, all trade goods and materials lost to the void. Not in the warehouse, caravan or inventory.

    Anothert bug report sent.

Not to be deterred, i joined with another player that was going to run a caravan and asked him to tell me if it worked for him, while i farmed even more glint to another test. He told me it worked alright, and his caravan configuration, that was a clean basic caravan. I got another trade good and tried again, same route as the other player. Halcyon to Winstead. When i finished, same result. All my goods lost to the void.

I sent the 3th and last bug report on this case.

Keep in mind that to test all this i lost two full warehouses, a shitton of glint, the silver i had to pay to launch the caravans, the silver i paid to other players that escorted the caravans, since the event gives nothing i always pay for the help, and all the time walking really slowly with the caravan three times.

Now tell me, oh enlightned one, was dying to test "loot drops" the same value or better as all i did to report in extreme detail a pretty massive bug on a core mechanic of the game?

Please, as a higher being, share with me what i should do to help the game become the best thing possible, since my efforts and commitiment are lacking.

    Thankyou for your service

A demon summoned on my node... I enjoyed it.
One of the most fun things for me so far has been how hands on the GM has been. I also killed a giant with a random group of 6 people after it was spawned on somebody gathering in the woods... We instantly teamed and had a fun random encounter, after which the GM came down chatted for awhile and gave us a reward. I lost some high grade materials... But I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was a blast.
It makes the game less stale, having the hand of God actually interact on a more personal level is awesome.

It's quite different. On the wild you are taking a risk, anything can kill you, monster, players, a random train. that bear that was slowly following you for 10 minutes (spetacular AI btw). If you are there and have your bags full, thats on you. Same goes from transporting things from one node to another. Its your job as a player to make preparations so your stuff is not taken away. If you die, it's on you. It's part of the charm of the game.

But in the middle of a city, with no warning, while you are cleaning your warehouse to do some testing, against a swarm of lvl 50 elites, what's the counterplay on that? If it was on the outskirts i could notice the ruckus nearby and prepare.

I was not frustrated for dying and losing stuff, if you read my last post, i lost way more getting information to report this bug. My frustration was it came out of nowhere, with no counterplay or warning, on a place that was supposed to be safe.

If a God spawn a lvl 50 golem on my head while i am farming or killing mobs, i will have a blast preparing a raid to get revenge, because i am on a place where i expect it to happen.
