There should not just be one way to level

I see a lot of people on the forums saying that leveling should be this one exact way or another. Like 50% grind or 50% questing. Just because that is what you want doesn’t mean that is going to work for everyone else. If Ashes wants this game to be super grindy to hit max level. It should allow people to play the way they want. And not follow a rigid leveling path.

Ideally you should be able to level by questing, dungeons, raids, world events, mob grinding, exploration, PvP, etc. And the exp for the time invested should be comparable to each type of other activity so what ever way you enjoy leveling you are rewarded and you can do a multiple different things to get to max level. That way everyone can enjoy the game in the way they like to the most.

Ashes will eventually have all of those ways to level, Flashfire … so don’t sweat it.

However, players that do want to grind will eventually find the optimal way to earn XP.

Player behavior in Ashes won’t be any different than any other MMOs in that respect.

I'll always oppose being able to level using basic PvP methods in a game where the leveling experience is supposed to matter.

For everything else, it's a lot of work to get it all 'worked out' so I think most people want a 'solid baseline' so they don't all have to worry about unfun exploits.

idk about others but I personally dislike even when 'one exp grind spot is meaningfully better than most others' in MMOs, so when you get to the level of things like BDO leveling guides, I tune out immediately even if it results in me being ineffective.

Making me ineffective by not properly setting out your goals/balance for exp gain in a semi-competitive game just conveys to me that I shouldn't be taking your game seriously.
