City Mayors

Good day! I am writing to you about the mechanics of “City Mayors”. I think it should be improved a little, because anyone can press the “I want to become a mayor” button. and when voting starts there are a lot of players on the list. It’s not clear who they are, what level they are, or what guild they are from.
I think it’s worth adding at least some information about the mayoral candidates. At the same time, you can make some kind of entry fee - like 5 gold, so that not everyone can be participants - but only those who really strive for it. TY

    As somebody who currently is one of the mayors, I agree!

    Some other things I would like to see are:

    - a confirmation window before applying to the position so you can't apply anymore by spamming the dialogues
    - the possibility to write a few words or something else to give people information about yourself during the voting period
    - the possibility to get information about when elections will happen etc
    - information about who applied for mayor even before the voting starts

    i think mayor's should never be a popularity contest, you can see this as probably 80% of the current mayors are all streamers, its terrible design, i know its not for all nodes but it should not be in the game at all

    I think I lean in this direction myself. If someone sees a guildmate on a list, or this, or that... Then it becomes a popularity contest. Which is going to happen regardless but at lease make people do their own research. heh.

    only academic nodes will be election by popular vote , however all nodes are currently set to academic systems https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Mayors#Node_election_types
